i think my sister might be being abused by my stepmom. in october, my sister talked back to my stepmom, "Rae". Rae got so angry with her that she began spanking her, pushed her up against a wall, grabbed her shoulders, and began violently shaking her. many times i have seen rae grab my sister's face or wrists and squeeze them very hard. does this count as abuse? or is it just the good spanking that my sister deserves? is it not abuse until there are visible bruises? how can you tell when someone has crossed the line into abuse? and what should i do if it is abuse? telling someone is not an option.

I have this strange hunch that she has some kind of closeness or even feelings for my fiance (her youngest brother). She made a sexual innuendo to him and even helped him shave his face when I wasn't there. He's a grown up! We're expecting a baby! I don't like it and I voiced this to him and all he could say is "look, my family and I are super close and we do personal things in front of each other". He barely asks me for help when he shaves. At home he can do it HIMSELF. Is she trying to sabotage my relationship with her brother? Out of sheer jealousy, I believe.

My fiance and I come from different cultures. His family are Hungarian immigrants and mine are American. I was taught that its not acceptable to simply "cop out" with "Im sorry" because you need to correct your behavior instead of offer an excuse. His family taught him that you say I'm sorry, kiss the person your fighting with on the head and go on about it. Repeat this over and over, even if the behavior is not corrected. We have different parenting beliefs. I've worked in childcare for years and we were taught to not allow the children to simply cop out with I'm sorry, but to let the other child who hurt you know you have hurt them. I'm from a conservative, moderately strict and very realistic family. I plan to keep these traits. He won't let me. He wants me to "butt out" of MY child's life when he's making them say I'm sorry.

that your life is over just because you get pregnant! I mean ya it's good to wait, but if it happens it doesn't end your life! I have a son and a new stepson, and I have a great life! I just don't understand why you say your life is over!!

I have read a lot of questions about spanking some for some against. What I would like to know is were you spanked as a child and do you think it influenced how you punish your children? If so how? Did it make you for or against spanking? why is that? I would like to make it clear that I just mean spanking not ABUSED .

My boyfriends exwife is a horrible mother. His son has cognitive/learning and emotional disabilites, and she has no interest in helping him she lets him do what he wants, because of all this, the child is not very pleasant to be around.(details in my other questions if u r interested) My BF wants him to move in with us, I am not ready. The boy is unpredictable and has been violent in the past. He goes to therapy on and off. The mother is often "too busy" to bring him regularly.

I had my son at 16. My mom and grandma did most of the raising. Raising being no restrictions on him at all...Letting him run free, doing whatever he wants to. Now I that I have moved out and in with my fiance. We have to deal with this "I don't have to because my grandma or my GG says so". Warnings do not work, Spanking does not work, sitting down and talking does not work, timeouts do not work. He can be very aggressive when he gets upset. He has gotten into the habit of lying. Like he'll spill his drink and instead of telling someone or trying to clean it up...he tries to hide it...he blames others for the things he does. And, I just do not know what to do with him. My fiance and I have thought about the possiblility of him having some form of ADHD...I really wouldn't want to get him tested and then him be labled and have to be on meds forever...I want to try to resolve this problem myself before resorting to medical help. I am also due to have a baby in about 5 weeks..Please Help.

What is the point of telling kids about a fat man with flying reindeer that gives you presents every year? What does a big bunny that gives you rotten eggs have to do with the birth of Jesus Christ? What does the tooth fairy have to do with anything? Why the hell do parents tell their kids such ridiculous lies? An another point, who came up with this stuff?

My daughter is to the point that she is so tired of hearing her dad yell at me that she is willing to quit to make it easier and I have told her that this is between the two of us and for her not to worry about it. He is the type of person who feels because we can afford to give them what they want they shouldn't have to work he doesn't even agree with making my son carry out the garbage. I am proud of my daughter for wanting to do this and that is what try to tell him. She has done it for 6 weeks now and has already saved $300 and bought herself somethings she was wanting. He thinks the child supoort should be enough and it is the kids have what they need a lot of wants and still some in the bank for college. I explained if he makes her quit she will resent him and his words were so be it I am not going to have people thinking I can't provide for my kids. He has threatened another court battle over it and I am afraid of that.
