They said he will have to pay 750 a month. This is ridiculous, she still lives at home with her mother. He only makes 12 an hour. So after taxes that would not leave us with much money to live off of. We have a child on the way. Because of this I won't be working. I do not trust people with my child. So I will be a stay at home mother. Does any one have any advice. Please don't be rude. This is hard enough I don't need stupid comments. Thank you

She said no one wanted to hang out with her because "she cant buy friends...maybe clothes, but not us" is what one kid said.

Just curious what others are doing. My boys have begun to play with toy guns -acually they aren't even toy guns - a toy drill used as a gun, a squirt gun w/o water. They like to pretend to shoot bad guys and fall over like they've been hit. It's pretty good acting, but I'm not sure about the gun play.

My child is being punished at school severly. He usually can not tell me what happened. He does remember the punishment for whatever it was though. I have asked the teacher and she will tell me something like, " He wouldn't sit still." He is only five, do any five year old boys sit perfectly still all the time? The teacher says kids memory doesn't process things that happened a few hours ago. My child is no angel, but if he can't recall what he done, how is punishing him for it going to help. I am not a parent tahe believes every word my child says. I started the school year out with an open mind, but I am having a hard time keeping things that way. Since the second week of school he has been sitting by him self at a table. He has to walk in the front of the line anywhere they go. She has even made him sit with her at lunch a NUMBER of times. I just want so SERIOUS insight on childhood develoment. Please excuse Spelling.

My fiancee wants to adopt my baby gurl as his own. He's been daddy since she was only 1 1/2 months old. I left her biological father when she was one week old. I heard that if you where with the biological father for a year or more then it goes into court, but we were only together for 11 months. Where do i start? I would like to get my fiancee for christmas the papers to sign, but I don't think it's that easy. Am I right?

I work at a swimming school and was wondering what are the different way you think of getting kids off arm bands. They become use to it and don't seem to want to try swimming without.

My husband and I are married for about one year and he has a son from a previous marriage that is almost 9 years old. Unfortunately, his son is still not as of yet potty trained at night time. His son does live with his mother full time and she insists on him wearing pull ups at night. When we have him on weekends though he does not wear pull ups with us. We had tried to convince her to not have her son wear pull ups but it has been a loosing battle. It has been a year at this point and she believes that he will outgrow the pull ups eventually. Our thoughts are different, how can he outgrow pull ups if he has never been out of diapers. He rarely has a dry night and I he talks about it openly with us. I just wish I knew a way that we can all agree and get him out of pull ups. The goal is that and I am afraid that the bigger picture is just not clear to her. Any suggestions?

Most questions I post I have given alot of thought to- sometimes for years. Is it some universal trait that parents can't see what their own kids do? That thier children and themselves are not responsible for what they did? "Well, they learned it from so and so's kids". It's urksome. My question: "Is it true in your corner of the globe that this is the norm...that everyone thinks their kids couldn't be the problem." Why can't parents see how bratty their own kids really are- or they pass blame? What can a person say that will help wake these parents-of-future-inmates up?

For example, when trying to get attention, crying "mummy" with the tone getting higher at the end, then after a brief pause "mummy" again with a lower tone at the end?

and also, why do kids when stroppy put an extra "a", at the end of every word? For example... Nooo-a! Any ideas?

A group ladies and I get together for lunch once a month for our birthdays. Among the ladies are my aunt & mom. Last week we were waiting for our food & my mom wanted to show the ladies that my son learned to walk.(This was a big deal b/c he has had some health issues) He was walking around the table, peeking around everyone's chair & playing peek a boo. The other ladies were laughing & playing with him. I was watching my aunt, & her face started getting red, & I could tell she was getting mad. When the food came I got up to get him, but before I could get to him, she snatched him up, put him in his high chair, & said "it is time for you to sit down" It wasn't hateful but by no means was it nice either. It was a very casual setting. My aunt doesn't have children though she's tried for many years. She is often giving me advice on raising children, even though I don't ask for it, but because I feel for her I don't say anything.I guess my ? is what would u do in this case? Thank you.

I have 2 girls (20 & 18) and 2 boys (13 & 14). Girls were way easier. The things you have to drill into boys amazes me. Wash, put on deodorant, get off the roof.

His ex is taking him to court because she doesn't think he's paying her enough. She works part-time at minimum wage. She bought a new car and puts that before her year and a half old daughter. He pays her 310 a month. She gets WIC and is covered on her mom's medicaid. She complains he doesn't see her enough but everytime he tries to pick her up she leaves with the baby so he can't see her. He doesn't mind giving her more money if it goes to his daughter, but he knows it doesn't because he'll give her $50. Then the next day she will call and say she needs diapers. What do you think the court will do?
