and i haven't said one dishonest thing on my forms and phoned them up once to tell them they were overpaying me, they said they werent and 3 days later i got a letter saying they want it all back!? am i going mad??!!

Oh my God no love you are not the only one! Everyone I know is having some degree of difficulty with their tax credit payments!

They have messed me and my family about so much you wouldn't believe it and I won't bore you with the details.

There are lots of places on the web to go for advice and forums where you can compare notes with the masses!

You will have to call them and ask for a TC624 (it will take between 10 - 15 days)
You will need to wait until that comes back and then fill in a COP26 (fastest way is to download it)
Send it back, and wait.....

it depends on ya situation....you dont say if you are employed or self employed but from past experience I know that you have to phone them all the time to keep there account on you up to date. Much rather pay for a call then for them to ask for money back.

Nope they are a pain in the ar*e ... i dread it when those letters come thro my door ... i bury my head in the sand until the week before they are due back ... nothing is ever easy ... grrrr
