my son and his freinds who have just started sixth form want a few drinking sessions in my home around christmas i am all for them having a little fun have allowed a few party's in the last few mths some of the lads have got a bit drunk but is it wrong to let them drink at there age the law is really strict on undreage drinking but as a parent i would like in a way to teach my child to drink alcohol and have some respect for it before he reaches 18 years of age when he will be allowed to go out to pubs and clubs at that point i will have no control over what he drinks i would like to think he will have learnt how to use alcohol under my supervision because lets face it at 18 he will not be listening to me am i wrong to let my 16 yera old drink?

im a mom of 1 and im far from a crazily portective mother goose...portective yes but overly portective? NO! however i bought my 1yr old daughter a bratz babyz movie tonight (thought it looked cute and she begged for it) we got home popped it in the dvd player and no sooner was it POPPED OUT!!! i could not believe my eyes!! is this geared for pedofiles or what?? i dont find it cute for cartoon babyz portrayed as 1 year olds to want to "flaunt what they got" i quote that because in the 5min it was on it mencioned that at least every minuite! now i want to know what the hell does a 1 year old have to flaunt besides toothless grins? just filthy nasty things if u ask me...what a disgrace i think they need to go behind the scenes of whos making these bratz babyz crap and see if they have some secret fetish...because honestly i dont think any child should watch these movies..and honestly i think they are truley geared for pedophiliac pleasures so they can turn around n target babys now!!???

before answering in such detail. Some people are really taking others very seriously and offering real advise (lengthy ones) and then you read their other questions and they are just ridiculous and can't be true questions. We should be giving advise to real questions and problems instead of wasting our time. Does anybody agree? Or is this all just fun?

I got pregnant pretty young, I'm only 19 but I understand the responsibilites of being a parent. I know lots of young ladies my age that after giving birth to thier babies they didnt take responsibility for thier kids. They automatically went back to partying and clubblin. I dont want to do that, I love spending as much time as possible with my daughter and I know its the right thing to do. But I kind of just want a night out with my fiance' to go on a date or just do something fun. I feel like if I go out people will judge me and think of me like I'm every other stupid teen mom that doesnt take good care of thier kids! I want a night out but I just feel like I'll be judged and end up feeling really guilty!

"Money and status don’t change the way I feel about myself. I could be successful in life, but I don’t have any motivation. I want to support a family someday, but my brain goes dead at the thought of doing something technical. Nothing ever interests me. I feel very restless. I’m very passionate about certain things but not to where I can make money off it. I have trouble making friends because I hate expendable friendships and that seems to be all most people want from me. I mean, it feels really empty to care about your friends only to have them disappear. I can’t imagine a psychologist saying any magic words to better my depression. I really do want a family someday, but I’m too self-centered to work a job that bores the life out of me. I’d rather have no family than be a bad parent."

I have a neighbor whose kids are almost always dressed up in dress clothes even in the summer. The boy’s normal attire is a dress button up shirt (sometimes with a tie), dress pants, dress shoes and socks. On the little girl it is always a nice dress and dress shoes. I do not think them dressing up is a bad thing, but I do not see the reason everyday. It not like they are outside playing in the mud like this, but I see them in and out of the house on any given day. Has anyone ever seen this or do this with their children.

Did they use a reward system? If they did what did they use? My mom in law wants me to put my 3 year old in headstart because she heard that they can potty train a child in only 4 days. I have no idea if that is true or not. He has no intrested in being potty trained right now. I also want to hear what you think of head start. I have never been into a head start program before. The town I grew up in never had one. My son has never been away from me and gone to school. I tried for a month in a daycare in a gym that I had to quit because he hated the daycare. I would leave him after getting him into something and he would cry. He really dosen't play with kids, And has no friends. I didn't start pre-school until I was 4 and never knew a child my age until then. I am not sure about it. To me a pre-school that is discounted or free can't be that great. I picture a school that is dirty and everything is used and a staff that doesn't really care. I could be wrong. Thoughts?

Why are parents letting their kids get on the internet for other than homework? I don't get this. All the predators out there and even sting operations for them, then no one addresses the parents for letting a 12 yr old on the internet for a social life. A 12 yr old should not have their own computer with internet in their room, simple as that. They should only be on the family computer for learning purposes. Why are you parents being so leanient on this? I was not allowed to date until I was 16 and did not get a phone in my room until age 14. I turned out just fine and my kids will be just fine, you can count on that. Learn how to tell your kids NO once in a while instead of being lazy parents who just want them out of their hair. They get enough computer exposure in school so don't use the excuse of "they need to learn the computer for the future and to be up with the times." Protect your kids and we would not have to worry about internet predators. They would not exist.

My girlfriend and I are really in love. Everything between us is amazing except she is having problems with the fact I have a 5 yr old daughter. I have my daughter 3 days a week and my girlfriend is feeling anxiety about us getting really serious because she's scared of being a mother figure. Which I dont expect at all and she knows this. I completely respect and understand her fears but obviously my daughter is not going anywhere. Shes scared and thats normal! Anyone else in a similar situation? There has to be some tools to work through this! Ive been feeling like my daughter is a liability for our relationship and I dont want to feel that way!!!

I have been keeping my granddaughter, due to some health issues that her mom is having. She has been with us for several months. All of a sudden she is wanting to sleep with us. She has always had her own room, and never an issue.

My children never wanted to sleep with me, unless they were sick or had a nightmare. This is everynight, and after a week, becoming quite concerning. We have tried to talk to her, but she just says she can't be alone.

I am thinking that she is a little lost without her mom, and that is the reason.

Any suggestions?

I'm 16 and I made a really stupid decision and now I'm pregnant. Telling my parents is not an option for many reasons(trust me). Is it possible for me to get an abortion without my parents knowing? The guy is 18, would he be able to take me to get it done? About how much would it cost?
