I have a neighbor whose kids are almost always dressed up in dress clothes even in the summer. The boy’s normal attire is a dress button up shirt (sometimes with a tie), dress pants, dress shoes and socks. On the little girl it is always a nice dress and dress shoes. I do not think them dressing up is a bad thing, but I do not see the reason everyday. It not like they are outside playing in the mud like this, but I see them in and out of the house on any given day. Has anyone ever seen this or do this with their children.

They dress this way even in the house. I do not know of any religion that does this and they do not seem like major Bible thumpers.

Maybe they just like their children to look nice? We have a 6yr daughter who is a little miss priss and always has to style herself and wear jewerly and she loves to wear dresses and dress shoes. Every outfit my daughter owns even if its not a dress is beautiful. Theres nothing wrong with your children dressing nice. Don't forget how your child dresses reflects on the parents.

To be perfectly honest i had neighbors just like that the girls never wore anything but long skirts and dresses. I never asked the parents or anything because i was the same age as the girls i guess i just figured they wanted the girls to be proper and lady like, stuff like that. I guess when you are raised to look a certain way you tend to stick with that way for your self later on. Maybe the parents enjoy looking nice so they incourporate (sorry about the spelling) the kids in it to.

I lived next to a family like that when I was little. They did it because religion though now I can't remember what theirs was. I think it was some form of extreme christianity. They were never allowed to play with any of us because we were "heathens" and they didn't even leave the house on sundays because it would have been doing something on the Sabbath. I only saw them a time or two because their mom didn't want us "tainting" them but then they moved to California for their dad's job...and left their cat outside to starve. I always though that wasn't very christian of them...

No, I actual have not ever seen that. it form of sounds like it might restrict childrens' skill to play like usual childrens (soccer, softball, enjoying cover and seek for, only employing usual playground kit). yet i think as long by way of fact the mothers and fathers are no longer abusing the infants, they're high quality. this is only unusual in a international the place everyone, including the adults, many times gown fantastically casually now.

That's... damned peculiar.

The world is too casual for my taste, but kids do not need to be dressed up as if they are going to tiny little jobs every day.

Very weird.

Geez and I thought Joan Crawford was dead! Ever see "Mommie Dearest"? She always dressed the kids up.

I don't know for sure but it could have to do with their religion
