A teenager requires about 9 or 10 hours of sleep. On a school night I would set a bed time of 9:00pm and 10pm on weekends.

My girls are 16 and 13,they both go to bed at 10:30 pm. My oldest one gets up at 6 and the youngest at 6:30 am. If my youngest one gives me problems the next morning from being tired, then I make her go to bed at 9 pm. On the weekends they stay up as late as they want, I figure they have no school, so give them a break.

Teenagers should get 8-10 hours of sleep a night. I think that 9:30 -10:00pm is a reasonable bedtime. that is what time I remember going to bed as a teen.

8-9 hrs.

9-10 oclock if they get up for school at 6 to 7.

Weekends, let them stay up as long as they want. If they are used to going to bed at 9-10 during the week, they won't stay up much later than 11 or 12 on weekends except if they are having sleepovers or whatever.

think adolescents need an average of 9.25 hours of sleep per night. This is a time in their lives that they don't produce as much melatonin, and sleep patterns can really get out of whack reslulting in Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. A young person experiencing daytime sleepiness, or having trouble getting out of bed in the morning could have any number of different sleep disorders. My son is 15 and has DSPS, and it took a couple of doctors and 3 sleep studies to finally diagnose it. He has been treated for it since the middle of March, and already shows remarkable improvement, and what do you know? He didn't need anti-depressants and counseling as one physician suggested, and he isn't lazy as numerous relatives and friends suggested. If your child is tired, please combine common sense with research to help him or her--it's worth it, and go to a reliable sleep clinic.

I am not the parent of a teen yet....thank god mine are still toddlers! haha but when i was that age, my mother made me get to bed by 10pm and up by 6:30 for school at 7:30 then on weekends, i was allowed to pick my own bedtime. Made me happy to have some "control" haha. Anyway, i dont know if that helps but good luck!

My kids aren't quite that old yet but me and my wife have discussed the best time for our kids, We believe that the time for the Weekday where they go to school the next day is 8:00 p.m. and during the weekend its 9:00p.m. maybe if time persists we can be leniant to that time cause it is the weekend but the weekday IS 8 p.m.!!!

10pm sounds reasonable. That allows for a good 8 or 9 hours of sleep when you have to wake up early for school next morning. :-)
