I mean seriously! Teenagers today that have never been spanked. This is crazy! I was spanked and never thought badly of my parents for doing it. What do you think?

This is my first and only child. I hear this is common but it is very upsetting to me and I wonder how he could say such things and say them like he means it!! Has anyone else dealt with teenagers like this and how do I respond to him when he says this?

I have an 8 yr old daughter who can be as sweet as candy. She has a tender heart and truly cares for others. The problem is, I let her talk back to me to much when she was younger. Now I am paying for it, she mouths off all the time to her father and I. We have told her that isn't an acceptable way to talk. We have punished her etc.
She still does it, more so to her Dad now, as I told her I wouldn't out up with it.
She is very immature, I'm afraid I coddle her.. I am not sure where to draw the line. How to be a non - coddler, but yet have sympathy.
For instance, she wants to sleep in my room everynight and will cry if not allowed to.
Thanks

Katrina. I never asked for you to put the bags of leaves in the curb but to see if Vanessa did as supposed.Complain to Vanessa about giving thanks or next time let her deal with her problems and teach her a lesson. I can see that in your busy schedule your mother doesn't fix anymore. I know that I lost you on Sept 17 Th 2004.( the day I moved out) The person who write these letters isn't the daughter I had.
You say you don't listen when when many times I don't understand you. Just remember this hearing loss is inherited passing thru the mother to daughters and sons, I did hear much better when i was your age. But what comes around goes around. I did not call last night because we arrived too late after 16 hours driving ,the last three in one heavy thunderstorm. I'm sorry to bother you.
I have the things from Spain if you still want them.
Love, Mother

I allow my daughters who are 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 to go with mom mom once a week. i feel that this is good for them as well as me because lets face it, it's nice to be away from your kids once in a while and vice versa for the kids. I also know some people with 5 year olds who have NEVER been away from their mom or dad even for 5 minutes. What I would like opinions on is this; Is this really a smart thing to do? To not allow their children to spend time with grandma or another family memer that they trust? Will it affect their social skills once they start school if they spend every minute of every day with their mother?

I talked to the pediatrician about this and she just said it could be something im eating. I have read that breastfed baby poop should be yellow with curds in it and that consistently green poop could indicate an allergy or hindmilk/foremilk problem. I have eliminated potentially allergic foods and stopped taking vitamins to see if it would help. She is emtying both breasts so I dont know if it could still be a hindmilk imbalance. My baby is gaining weight just fine. She is almost 3 months and 12lbs. If your baby is 100 breastfed what does their poop look like? The only time my baby poops yellow is when I go to work the one day a week on saturday and my hubby gives her formula. Thanks

I don't have any children, so of course, I don't know what it's like. However, I can't help but think that the parent-child bond should be unbreakable, so I can't imagine why or how any parent can disown a child.

ok somebody posted because they work in a restaurant.. they were complaining about parents who let their kids make a HUGE mess and behave like animals (I wonder if the kids behave that way at home too) and they were asking why do parents take such bratty children out..
Anyhow most of the answers seemed to say this was normal and there was something wrong with her for complaining about this... I was SHOCKED and rather disgusted.. if this is normal and so many people are saying its acceptable for kids to behave like this - I truely fear for the future....

I met my husband on the internet a year and a half ago. We have a warm, wonderful relationship. I have two children from a previous relationship, as does he. Mine are young and live with us, his live with his ex-wife. I haven't met the oldest (16 year old) girl because she "doesn't want a new family". Before I came into my husband's life, his daughters pretty much had him at their disposal. He would go over to their home, while the ex and her new fling went wherever for the weekend. He bought them whatever they wanted, did anything they wished. Now, I taught him to respect himself and to not allow them to manipulate him anymore. The oldest refuses to even see him unless he's coming over there to their home to stay the night, She won't even come outside. And now the youngest has stopped returning his phone calls. They are unreasonable selfish lil girls who hate seeing their father finally happy. What should I do? If they would just see him I'd be happy. should i try?

If you are a parent and with all the banning of Gay rights, how would you react if your son/daughter said if he/she were gay/lesbian?

One of my friends has a 16 year old kid and she just reccently found out her husband abused him for 12 years. Sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse. She doesn't want to report him to the cops even though I told her that's the way to go.

It's the most annoying thing ever ... I waited tables this weekend at my old job as a request for a friend .... and got this couple with their 3 kids (all about 2-6 y/o) and made this huuuuuuuuge mess ... I mean spaghetti everywhere and they played with the sugar caddies and cried ... I mean I really wanted to slap thos kids and their parents (they didn't do anything to correct their dumb kids) and to boot they tipped $4 on a $50 tab.

And this goes for 85% of people that go out eating with young kids ... Now, I do have a 4y/o ... but, trust me .... she's really educated and clean when it comes to eating and always says "please" and "thank you" when appropriate ... what gives!!!

Don't get me wrong ... we all love our kids ... but, sometimes they really ruin things for others .... people in nearby tables hate sitting next to tables with little kids

And please don't say its because men are *******, There must be more of a reason then that. I work at a hospital and it seems like almost every single woman who comes in is a woman under the age of 21 and single. Do you think its an issue with education? Do you think its because these people come from bad households? The statistics are constantly increasing from what they used to be 50 years ago. So whats the problem?

I am doing a childcare course and need to carry out an investigation which involves a questionnaire. I need to find people who have children with learning difficulties/behaviour problems. Any ideas on how to go about this and get a decent sample? Say at least 15 parents?

Being a single Parent must be difficult? What do you do for work and money once you have a child to look after? Because you cant go out to work as you have to look after the baby.
