I work at a swimming school and was wondering what are the different way you think of getting kids off arm bands. They become use to it and don't seem to want to try swimming without.

The trick I used with my daughter was to slowly deflate them, little by little she didnt even realize they where not helping here until I pointed it out and she was really proud of herself for doing it all by herself.

Take them off and deflate them and throw them out. Lol.

Teach them to swim only where they can easily touch. The fear of not being able to touch bottom is what causes them to cling to the floaties.

I hate those things for children who are supposed to be learning to swim, theyre so counter productive.
