How old is your baby? 4-6 months old is the best time to start on solid foods and your doctor (and you) are the ones that need to determine if it is appropriate for your child. Always start with a spoon and bowl, remember they are still learning and they pick up on everything you do for them, and with them. When I first fed my daughter she grabbed the spoon from me and shoved it in her mouth lol, thank goodness we filmed it. I hope you enjoy this new step and please use a spoon and encourage her/him while you feed them.

No solid foods until around 6 months of age. They can't properly digest it earlier. And starting too early can increase the risk of allergies, diabetes and obesity.

Then you start them on a spoon. Never in a bottle. The point is fun and practice with different tastes and textures and learning to eat off a spoon. Solids are really mostly for fun and practice for the entire first year.

Spoon, spoon, spoon! For the first time use about a 1 to 4, cereal to formula, ratio. It'll be runny and messy ... lots of opportunities for pics. Have fun!

never put cereal in a babys bottle they can choke on it and it wont go through the teat as well causing the baby to use up energy trying to eat.

from a spoon and bowl is best.
