I have 2 girls (20 & 18) and 2 boys (13 & 14). Girls were way easier. The things you have to drill into boys amazes me. Wash, put on deodorant, get off the roof.

Girls are by far easier when they are little and boys never change. They stay the same from when they learn to talk to the day they get married. Girls you have to watch out for and protect and boys learn to protect themselves. Although this usually gets them into trouble. Sometimes you have girls that want to act like boys. You can't really choose which is easier cause in all honesty they are both hard to deal with. It ends up depending on their personality. I couldn't really tell you but no matter what either of my children do ( a little boy and a little girl) they will always be mine. And children are never easy. But I would have to say that my little girl has been easier on me so far. At least she never peed on me.

I have both a girl and a boy born 13 months apart and I can tell you first hand that my Daughter was a breeze during the infancy and pre-teen years my Son on the other hand was the "devil". My Daughter was potty trained by 2 and my Son 4.
Now that they are both in H.S. my Son is the easier one, he does his chores, usually with the first asking and helps around the house ALLOT more than his sister.
So my answer is split.
Infancy - Pre-teen: GIRLS
Teen - ??? BOYS

I also have 9 nieces and nephews and the above is pretty much the same.

I have a 9 yr old girl and 3 yr old boy. My daughter was way easier than my little guy. She never had tantrums, got into anything or was just plain mean. She was the prodigal dream child. Boy, I hope this baby coming is another girl. I don't know if I can handle another tornado.

I have one boy and one girl and I think by far the hardest one to raise was the kid. You know....the one that respects you and listens to you and behaves properly!!!! Kids are not easy to raise and I don't really think the sex of a child has any bearing on how "easy" it is to raise them. Girls have to be more aware of their surroundings and more cautious and taught to be more independent, but boys have to be taught how NOT to take advantage of girls and be men, and be providers. It is a stress of life matter what sex you are, and we as parents do the best we can. My favorite saying was always, "Hope for the best and expect the worst, that way you're never disappointed".
