For Mother Day last year my then 5 year old made me this little poster. It has his handprints on it. Inbetween his handprints is a little poem named "My Handprints". It still makes me tear up.

I have necklace made from paperclips, colorful beads and macaroni... I received it for Mother's Day when my now 19 yr old was 3.. The macaroni turned my neck different colors and it gave me a rash but I wore it all day Mother's Day that year because she made it and was so proud of it...

I have a black X on a white piece of typing paper my son made me when he was 4.... Not reeally an art project but that was his way of letting me know when he was Really really really angry at me... He would go into his room and draw a big black X on a paper come out and hand it to me without a word then go back to his room... I knew then that I was black X'ed... He is now 17 and when he gets really really really angry he yells and punches his punching bag... Oh for the days of the blaack X being the biggest demonstration of his anger...

I received a tee-shirt covered with fabric paint (when I say covered I mean covered it's so stiff with the paint it can actually stand up in a shirt shape on it's own) when my youngest was 5.. In order to put it on someone has to drop it over my head (reverse that to get it off) She used 7 complete large bottles of paint on it leaving no sign of the white teeshirt it started out as... It feels like body armor when worn and in the summer it's a portable sauna.. I love it... She is now 9...

I also have file folders with all the refridgerator art from each child in it...

I am a sentimental sap when it comes to things my children have made for me...

This is real funny and that is why it is my favorite. In second grade the teacher put on a "tea" for the mothers. The kids all made decorations for it.

I arrived. And I saw all the little paper flowers and things with the Moms' names on them at desks. And they were all nice and girly and Mom.

And then I found that my daughter had made a Budweiser beer bottle with my name on it. I don't even drink!!!!!!

I was, of course, horriffied, I thought they would all think I was some kind of lush. But I endured. Later I asked what the deal was and apparently she was captivated by the Bud Commericals with the Clydesdales.

But anyway it is real funny--in hindsight:)

My son made me a clay monkey pot in kindergarten. It is horribly ugly but he made it just for me with his own 2 hands so I proudly display it in my living room for all to see.
