I just started my freshman year in high school. On my third day, I was walking around the halls because I didn't want to go to my class. A teacher found me on the third floor and took me to the counselor's office on the second floor. I didn't want to talk to her, but she wouldn't leave me alone, so I walked away. The dean tried to block my way, but I dodged him without touching him. I went back up to the third floor, and he called 2 security guards. I stopped, told him I didn't want to talk, and tried to walk away. The guards blocked my way, so I turned and tried to go the other way. One of them rabbed me and put me in a full nelson and the other put me in handcuffs. They then hauled me down a flight of stairs to the dean's office. The dean called my mom, and LIED to her, saying that they handcuffed me because I shoved someone. I never, the entire time this was happening, put my hands on anyone. Granted, I struggled when the guard grabbed me, but he put his hands on me first. (Cont'd)

I have already filed a small claims case several weeks ago and the case is scheduled on 9/07/07. Will sending a demand letter to the defendent statingif payment is received before the case than I will dismiss the case help me at all?

I wasn't sure if the judge will be looking for this and/or if it will help me in collecting for the additional costs of filing suit against the defendant (filing fees, supoena fees, witness fees, etc.). I don't want it looking that I didn't try to settle this on my own and thus being stuck with the costs of the case.

FYI - the case is in Colorado and I am suing the defendant for filing false criminal charges against me - recovery of lawyer fees, lost time at work, bond costs, etc. - Thus I didn't think contacting the defendant was a good idea after this had occured.

Thanks for your help!

WHAT EXACTLY IS (2) OR OTHERWISE INTIMIDATES. Some people can say intimidate is anything but what exactly is this one. Is telling someone your opinion intimidating or asking somone for something is that intimidating. I am not a lawyer but in this term, I see it as criminal threatening. Can anyone give me their opinion

For a package that i didnt sign for? I originally ordered something, then tried to cancel the order and was told it already shipped, but was told dont sign for it if i dont want it. I then received it without signing.

Should i dispute this? What would be the negative impact if they claim it was delivered?

I checked and California law allows us to mount a satellite dish on our property. Our homeowners association can't tell us we can't have a dish because of the looks. If we have a view of the Southern Sky from our property we can have a satellite.

But then there's some gray area. We asked if we could install it on the roof or the wall on our place and homeowners said no. They said the walls and roof are not our property. We asked if we could have it on our patio and they said yes. But when we asked if we could screw it onto the patio floor they said we can not drill holes on the patio.

So... my thinking is that we can. Although we don't own the patio, we're able to put anything we want on it. By law we're able to put a satellite on our patio but to do so requires the tri-pod to be mounted to the ground with screws. The only way you can have a satellite is to screw either the satellite or the tri-pod into something.

What's your take? Does anyone know if we're legally able to do this?
