(2) Otherwise intimidates any person.

(3) Searches any person, building, or other property of any person.

(4) Obtains money, property, or other thing of value.

WHAT EXACTLY IS (2) OR OTHERWISE INTIMIDATES. Some people can say intimidate is anything but what exactly is this one. Is telling someone your opinion intimidating or asking somone for something is that intimidating. I am not a lawyer but in this term, I see it as criminal threatening. Can anyone give me their opinion

If you pretend to be a police officer when you are not, and your actions intimidate someone else, then you are guilty.

You don't have to MEAN to intimidate under this law.

If you impersonate a police officer, you are taking the risk that someone may be intimidated.

Don't do it.

Well, because claiming to be, or posing as a police officer can be intimidating to people, who believe one is a real police officer. As Citicop says, one doesn't have to actually intimidate another person. This is an extremely serious offense. Dressing as one, say, on Halloween, or in a play or something is perfectly legal, as long as people know the person is not a real police officer, and as long as the person does not verbally claim to be an officer, or behave in a way to make others think one is a real police officer.

The very act of presenting yourself as a law enforcement officer can be intimidating. That is a good catchall for impersonating a police officer and pretty much guarantees a conviction if the impersonation can be proven.
