A few months back I damaged to hood of a guys car, and he told the police that i damaged his hood, and the rest of the cars damages were from previous incidents, he was a really nice guy at the time, and now i have gotten the whole report back and he claimed 27 items totalling over $6,000 to my name. Including his fenders and rear bumper with most of his car getting repainted, plus i paid premium for his 2007 Mustang Convertable rental car. (Thats not the one they offer for free through ICBC....far off) How much of this am I responsible for? And what can I do if i want to have a legal discussion without going to court?

About a year ago I had a car accident which was my fault. My car insurance company failed to pay up in time, and a CCJ Summons was filed against me, and resulted in judgement.

I informed the car insurance company and their solicitors when the summons was filled, and they didn't act on it in time. In fact, the solicitors are now saying they didn't even receive the summons I faxed them (which I have proof of).

Anyways, I need to make the situation better. The lawyers are saying that a certificate of satisfaction has been obtained. As I would understand this, this just shows that the payment has been made now. NOT that it should have not even been entered into judgement in the first place - because of administrative error? Is this right?

I want to know what I should be telling the solicitors to be doing, to make things better - they have no clue.

Please help..anyone..anything

Suppose a convicted rapist is due for release. Let's say that psychologists who have evaluated him are concerned he may commit a crime if he walks free.
Should he be released?

Smoking is banned in pubs and clubs throughout Queensland. But smoking is permitted in the high rollers section of casino's. This shows that if you have money the rules don't apply to you. What do you think?

I'm sure someone has asked this question in the past but I wasn't there for it so I am asking again.

What do you think the punishment should be if abortion was illegal and a woman got one anyways?

I live in CA and I've been at my current job for approx. 60 days. Upon being hired, I was offered $8 an hour which is $.50 above minimum wage where I live. My pay days are the 5th and 20th of every month.

2 weeks ago, I was told that I would now be receiving "salary pay" at the rate of $1350.00 a month which breaks down to $675.00 for each pay period. He said he calculated this number by taking $16200.00 as my annual pay and dividing it further from there.

To me, this seems completely unfair. His version of annual pay isn't even $8 an hour x 40 hours a week x 52 weeks a year... It's $440.00 less :(

**Plus** I am REQUIRED to be there a MINIMUM of 90 hours per pay period depending on the month. This particular pay period, I worked a total of 100 REQUIRED hours, not including overtime. Is this fair? More importantly, is this legal?

I don't understand how I can be required to work but then not be compensated for it in my salary pay.

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Before divorce, my wife used out community money to pay for taxes and insurance on her inherited house. My attorney says I can't claim "comingling" because family court won't go that way. Best answer would be for Alameda County, but any other California or US family court info is also welcome.

During the youtube debate when Biden was asked if he flew there on a private jet, he hesitated, put his hand partly up, partly down, then back up again (slowly), and Anderson Cooper asked him if he wasn't sure how he got there. Hilarious! Bill Richardson waffled also.

.... From unfair pay??? What I mean is my employer told me that I was "exempt" from getting paid time and a half after 8 hours of work... and I usually work 14 hours a day, which I also heard that under the California Labor Law that if you work more than 12 hours a day you get paid Double?!?!?
I really would like to know if there is anyone out there that understands my question, and if I'am protected from this unfair pay of my employer???
Does anyone know where I can find hard solid proof that California has Laws protecting workers from this type of "exemption"???
I would appreciate it very much if anyone really understands if I qualify for time and a half and double time as a Bus operator in the state of California???
Thank you very much.

Our two year contract with sprint pcs was up in may 2007 which i had all intentions of changing to another carrier. (Their customer service is now located in India) In June 2007, I changed carriers and had all of our phone numbers ported over. Everyones numbers were out of contract. In Mid June, I received a notice via mail from sprint that i renewed my contract for 6/4/07 to 6/4/09 which i had not.I had called their cust. serv. to get this corrected and i was assured that this would get taken care of. The first part of July, i received a bill for over 800 dollars with penalty fee for early termination . I called and they said I had renewed my contract. Which I hadnot and had already changed to another carrier. They told me that they would cancel the new contract and deduct all termination fees. (200 bucks per phone). Thought everything was taken care of, then in July, received a new bill with the same charges plus a 60 dollar late fee. Help!
