You see it a lot in movies and tv, but is it legal? I would think its allowed. Would the government make you fit your car in there if your car doesnt fit, and would the government tell you to not use it to store your things?

There is someone who threatened to put a restraining order on me. My mom called him and begged him not to do it. I didn't do anything wrong. My ex-bf dumped me for no reason and doesn't wanna stay friends. I need to know how to know that he is really not putting one on me. What are the circumstances that allow one to valid? What are the just reasons? If you are given one, can you fight it? Do you have to sign it? Is it hand delivered or does it come in the mail? How much does it cost? Does the court allow a restraining order on anyone as long as the other party is willing to pay for it even though the person they want to put one on is guilty of nothing at all? Any help concerning your knowledge of this is appreciated. I do NOT need one on me.

I worked in a chemical factory. The conditions were terrible, unsafe, and management was abusive. But it was close to home and paid slightly better than other work, so I stayed. A few months ago, workers got together and voted to bring in a union. The company fired the man who organized the union vote 3 weeks later. It is now 6 months later, and the union is starting negotioations with the company but things are going slow. I spoke up defending the man who got fired, and told managers I was in favor of getting the union into the plant. I was just fired. I have never been late, or absent ever. Last week, my car would not start. I called into the plant that I would be 30 minutes late. I arrived 30 minutes late, for the first time in 16 months, and the manager knew in advance I had car trouble. I was fired for "absenteeism and lateness". But I know the real reason is that they wanted to get rid of another union supporter. What can I do? What should I do?

If Vick is not guilty in the end who will apologize to him for all the people "dogging" on him. He has to lissen to meny people about HIS problem before he sees a day in court. I posnally think PETA is liveing off of this and they are getting their 15 mins of fame. Thats who i think should apologize (PETA) if found not guilty.

Who do you think should apologize?

When i was sixteen years old i was hanging out in plainfield new jersey, with an old friend of mine named sam, he was eighteen, from a broken home and in a really rough spot in his life. out of frustration, ignorance and greed he decided to rob a local grocery. he was armed with nothing other than an eleven inch buck knife. when the police showed up i ran into the store but the cops knocked me out of the way. sam saw the cops, turned facing them and was told to drop the knife. he began to lean down to drop it, when he quickly spun around and began to run. he made it about three feet when one of the five policemen opened fire. according to the police report, sam was attempting to throw the knife when the cop fired a warning shot that hit him in back. i know the truth, the cop aimed at his legs, missed and shot him in the spine. what radical changes must we make to end these injustices? who will police the police? how will we end this tyrannical police state?

Is it illegal for a 21 yr old male to have sex with a 16 yr old female in Indiana. My brother was told by his girlfriend's parents that they found emails which talked about the two of them together. They are saying that they are calling the police because she is a minor. I think that it is legal but I thought I would ask to help ease his mind. Thanks

We have a labor board to deal with anyone who is mistreated. Raises and job security should come from earning it, not from seniority. Unions are allowed to contact and recruit workers at thier homes and managers can not discuss the consequences with their employees. The Union rewards the lazy for showing up and dissallows a company to reward employees based on performance. Teachers striking? Give me a break. Garbage collectors? Oh sorry I mean Sanitation Engineers.
Why is this still legal?

When someone deletes Q/A simply because they don't AGREE with them or they only want to SILENCE you so your point of view cannot be HEARD?
Are people so SENSITIVE and easily OFFENDED that they have to make sure NOBODY SAYS anything that they don't agree with?
ISN'T THAT PATHETIC?
All of you out there who have had your questions and answers deleted for no apparent reason other than someone wanted to SHUT YOU UP know exactly what I'm talking about?
Isn't that TRESPASSING on your RIGHTS to FREEDOM OF SPEECH?

We received a memo today from my employer that someone had sent personal info including ss #'s via email from work to an unrecognized email address. Coincidentally, our benefits person mysteriously was fired a little over a week ago. What rights do I have and what can I do to protect myself. I already have alerts set up for my credit report.

My parents are divorced and I live with my dad. After my parents divorced my mom got into a great deal of debt and apparently her creditors no longer have her phone number so they are constantly calling my dad's house asking for her. At first I told them she didn't live here and then tried telling them they have the wrong number but they continue to call. I guess they think I am her and I'm lying to them because the last time I told them they had the wrong number they just laughed and hung up. How can we get them to stop calling? Are they violating any laws by harassing individuals that do not owe them money???

I want to sell dresses at a boutique or on ebay. The dresses would be store bought but I'd then add things too it or change the entire design etc, just using the dess as the base part (adding to or taking away i.e. length or adding lace or fake flowers) since I don't know how to sew from scratch. Does this violate any laws???

My neighbors uncle put in his sprinkler system . When we were having our driveway poured we called and told them what day they would need to have all of their lines marked. They didn't mark it till a few days after the driveway was poured. Now my neighbors uncle said we buried the sprinkler heads and sent us a 600 dollar bill. When we asked him for an actual itemized bill he called us and threatend a lein against our house. he would just yell and scream and not answer any of our questions. What happens if we dont pay? We want an itemized bill showing what we are paying for. Also, our driveway is right on our property line so if anything the heads could be on our property

OK, Liberals always accuse Conservatives of telling others how to live their lives, but I find it tends to go the other way:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070727/ap_on_he_me/refusing_prescriptions

Now Pharmacists are no longer allowed to practice their religion? Excuse me, but I seem to recall a little thing called the 1st Amendment. Let me see.....

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

Prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Now, if someone's religion tells them they cannot sell morning-after pills (and, when they started this profession, they weren't required to, so don't say "they should have had another profession), and you make a law telling them they have to, isn't that "prohibiting the free exercise thereof"?????

I am sure you Liberals are OUTRAGED that their first Amendment rights are getting violated, right???

I have a business that which is located in an industrial/business park. Behind the property is a trail that people use for cycling, running, walking, skating and any other general fitness activity you can think of.

The problem is, that even though we are on private property, people come and park in our lot and take up my businesses parking to use the trail.

Though there is an old small sign in the entrance saying no tresspassing violators will be towed, people claim that they saw no sign.

Why would they need to see a sign in the first place? As fatr as I knew, parking lot's are private property unless they state otherwise. Whenever I looked for parking, I looked for signs that said "public parking" or municiple parking". Has the situation changed? Is it now legal to park anywhere you see empty space?

My landlord said he'd put up new signs, but he never does. And he doesn't like me to put my own up. Is there anything I can do to stop the parking problem?

authorized. I am a self payee and so i was really surprised with the bill (it was for $450). I am 20 weeks pregnant..anyways I called the doctors office and the receptionist told me that the doctor does a drug test on every pregnant patient of his. I am just really pissed off because he did the test behind my back, I have nothing to hide and would've appreciated it if he would've just told me he was going to do it. Should I pay the bill or dispute it?
