Is it illegal for a 21 yr old male to have sex with a 16 yr old female in Indiana. My brother was told by his girlfriend's parents that they found emails which talked about the two of them together. They are saying that they are calling the police because she is a minor. I think that it is legal but I thought I would ask to help ease his mind. Thanks

It is legal, but it can change so get involved.

I prefer over 18 for a lot of reasons.

Age of consent in Indiana is 16, however
"It is illegal for adults in a supervisory position of a minor aged 16 and 17 to have consensual sex with them. The crime called "felony child seduction", a Class D felony, carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a
$10,000 fine."

Its illegal. Consent is only to determine rape. The act of having sex with a minor is illegal. She can say its ok to sleep with her all she wants... he is an adult and bound to the law as an adult. Frankly...he should go to jail... thats just sick.

Davidmi711 got it pretty close.

How was he with her parents? Did they know, if so, they are just as guilty. Has he tried talking to her parents - they both will get scarred for life..

It isn't.

If he were 18 or 19 it might be different, but the age difference is too great. It's statutory rape.
