A subpoena MUST be obeyed. If you do not appear when subpoenaed, you will be open to a charge of contempt of court, possible arrest and imprisonment.

Once in the Court, you can say what you want and risk the consequences thereof, but you DO need to appear, at least.

if you are subpoenaed you have to show up to court. it does not mean that you will or you will not testify, but that you need to be there incase the DA wants you to testify. If you do not show up you will be held in contempt of court and possibly arrested.

You have to go. You can tell the court you don't wish to testify. They may respect your wishes, they may make you testify. But it's not up to you. Once you are subpoenaed, you have to show up, or they can issue a warrant for your arrest.
