i drive around nyc an take random photos and sometimes place theme on the internet(photo sites)

You can take pictures of people in public. However, if you use them commercially (like in advertisements), you should be prepared to pay them tor the use of their likeness.

I have a brother who is a professional photographer. I have heard him say that he cannot take a picture of someones face without permission. Of their back is alright. (to publicize)
