Say for instance... I purchased the domain name "Sony.net" before they did. If Sony wants to use this name do they have to go through me first and could I sell them the rights to that name??? I don't own Sony.net by the way, just an example :)

*And I know that Plessy vs. Ferguson was the court case that argued "separate but equal" but that concept is bull, so I call it "separate but unequal" because that's what it should have been called in the first place.

So many people that are huge proponets of allowing all kinds of assault weapons without control call everyone that doesn't agree a liberal. I am not a liberal, but I do believe we need to have some changes on the types of guns that are manufactured for market, along with age restrictions, mental health checks, and a longer waiting period.

He was arrested in Alameda County, Ca. This has been going on since January. The public defender said we do not qualify for their services, but the defendants rights that he signed said if we could not afford an attorney they would appoint one at no immediate cost to him. After the case was over there would be a hearing to determine his financial responsibility. We do not have a problem making payments to the court for this service we just cannot come up with the minimum 1500.00 retainer. The public defender told the judge they would represent him if he appointed them to. The judge said we made to much money. We have been to court nine times only to be told come back with an attorney. We do not have the money. Shouldn't the judge appoint one and then let the hearing determine if we are financially responsible. My boyfriend has missed nine work days plus the fuel to get there (75 miles away) The judge will not let my boyfriend get a word in to explain his situation. Help Please!

It was a three lane street I was on, but the officer drew down that it was a two lane street, and the officer wrote down my phone number that wasn't even my number, and he also stated that I was cited for the accident, but he never even gave me a ticket!
I'm going to take the other driver to small claims court to sue for the cost of the repair and the cost of the rental. The accident report says I was at fault, but I wasn't. If I took pictures of the scene of the accident and point it out to the judge and compare it to the report, do you think I will win?

Doesn't this expose the hidden agenda of the anti-smoking crowd who want to abolish tobacco, not because it is directly harmful to others, but because it is harmful to the individual and the government knows what is best for people and people don't deserve freedom of choice when one of those choices could harm them. Fatty foods is next on their list.

I live in Florida, and there is a situation I know of where there is a student living with a teacher but I am pretty sure the administration and the school board is unaware about it. It is a female student and a female teacher, but still, isn't there a law of some sort to prevent this? I know there is one that exists that will not allow student/teacher car pooling... if not car pooling.. why should living together be legal?

Prescription drugs and anti depressants are not natural and can mess you up more then pot ever will. I remember when I was in elementary school and I had been diagnosed with Behavior disorder and clinical depression. My mom took me to a hospital and I stayed their for six months. They kept switching my meds and they could never get it right. They had me on riddlen and all kinds of stuff. One med made me gain tons of weight in a matter of weeks, another med made me laugh about everything, I just couldn't stop laughing, even laughing at inappropriate situations. When I left the hospital they switched the meds again. The med they gave me made me very aggressive and violent. If my mom asked me to do something, I would often lash out at her and threatened her. I even threatened her with a knife. After that incident, she took me off all the meds all together. After that I was fine, back to my self. Pot on the other hand has never done any of those things that I just described.

People mature at different rates. It doesn't make sense to arbitrarily set an age below which certain activities are prohibited. Furthermore, it is difficult to justify different age limits for different activities; for example, the difference between the drinking age, voting age, driving age, etc. Suppose a 15 year-old can pass the driving test, doesn't that mean all the skills necessary to handle a vehicle safely are present, regardless of age?

My ex-husband (by court order) has to provide medical coverage for our daughter. Approximately 1 year ago my daughter had some dental work done. Her father's insurance company sent him the checks that were to go for paying the dental bill. Of course the checks were cashed, and the money spent (without the bill getting paid). I was just recently notified of this by a collection agency, as I am getting sued for this outstanding debt (being the responsible party on her medical/dental paperwork). I just got all of the evidence that I need to take him to court, and will be doing so soon. I am going to be asking for an award of punitive damages, as this has been placed on my credit, therefore causing derogitory information to be displayed. The bill is $695.00. How would I calculate an appropriate amount to sue for? Basically I want the punitive damages to pay for going to a "debt specialist" to have this removed from my credit.

My mother is about to get her house siezed by the government for non-payment of debts and I was wondering if I should be worried that they could come after me as well. I am 30 years old, have my own family and owe nothing to the government. My name is not on any of her things but her home will not cover what she owes. Do I take on this debt if she fails to pay?

*I'm not sure if these prices are exactly right, but that's not totally relevant to my question anyways... *

*Also, just to make it clear, I am straight, but I am very much for equality of all people, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, etc...*

Here's the question:

My school is currently selling prom tickets, at $20 dollars each. Or, a couple ticket is available for $30.

However, our school principal is only issuing these coupke tickets to male-female couples. He refuses to sell them to gay or lesbian couples, meaning that they must pay $40 for 2 separate tickets.

I was just wondering if he is legally allowed to do this, seeing as it's discrimination...

There is a petition going around school to stop this, but other than that, is there anything else we can do?
