Legally speaking, if you're pulled over and the officer suspects you for DUI are you required by law to consent to a field sobriety test? It's my understanding that they are not legally enforceable (meaning that just b/c the cops want you to do one you can tell them no). I understand that, at least in AZ, you have to consent to a breathalyzer or lose your license for 1 year. But what about those goofy FSTs? Aren't they just coordination games that will only lead to a cops probable cause? And if you refuse to take a FST is there any repercussion?

would like to find research on laws that when a company bans smoking on bldgs and grounds what are the available options for someone that smokes. And that has to be there for 8 hrs min with out being able to leave the bldg or grounds

I have been told that NC is not a community property state and a creditor cannot lien or levy on joint property? Does anyone have experience with this. However, on lawguru.com I had a reponse to a question and he said that if you are sent a notice of right to exemptions and do not respond, then a sheriff can come take your personal property. Is this true? What is exempt in NC?

An ex ripped me off for $20,000, and he said that if I sue him, he will send nude photos of me that he took while we were dating to my pastor, my family, my coworkers, etc. When I asked him to send them to me, he refused, so I'm pretty sure he is bluffing, but still..this guy is a psychopath and he will make my life difficult. In my state, you can't even get a restraining order unless someone PHYSICALLY puts their hands on you, which he has not. I would love to scare him with the real FACTS about what happens to you when you try to blackmail someone...anyone have any good legal material & knowhow?
(people...if you are single, stay that way!)
Basically, I am ready to sue this guy for the money but I have no idea what to do about the blackmail...$20,000 is a lot of money, but I'm sure that's how much therapy will cost when this guy makes me crazy.

After someone commits suicide what happens in the "real world". As in once the body is discovered, who notifies the family? Are friends notified as well? Is it done in person or by a mere phone call? When friends and family are finally reached are statements taken from them? Any information from someone who knows would be appreciated. I need this information for a project.

I am in a radio contest in San Diego and as a challenge I have to attempt to get media coverage. I want to hang signs on as many freeway overpasses as possible and was wondering about the legality of doing that here in CA. Also, if anyone has any other suggestions as to how to get some media coverage (legally) that would be GREATLY appreciated. Many men are attacked each year, but we never hear about it. Many men lose their homes and kids at the hands of a devious woman, but the way its ignored in the press, you wouldnt think it ever happened, even though we know a fairly large percentage of Domestic violence is caused by women.

Men also lose everything when their wives have been unfaithful, yet they lose it all when they are the guilty party, hardly fair is it?

and is never allowed to fly again.

he worked for a major drug store, took something, the companys internal affairs people questioned him without parent or guardian or lawyer. he is only 17. i was not notified of any of this until i recieved a letter from there attorney requstion restitution.

I took my lawnmower blades in to a local service shop, in which i had purchaed a snow blower and lawnmower from them in the past spending at least 2K.

I dropped off my lawnmower blades on a Friday, for sharpening and was told they would be ready on the following Monday after 11:00am. Monday came and I arrived to pick up my blades on my lunch hour from work and the clerk told me they were not ready. He said they could work on it now and I told him he failed to fulfill a time commitment, and they never called me at home to say they woudn't be done on time. I asked for a discount for time and inconvience, which he had to get the manager. He told me firmly i would not be getting a discount, and that he could get right on it now and they would be done in 30 miunutes. This was not good customer service in my eyes. They were backed up he stated and also stated to me have YOU been perfect in your life? I told him to take some customer service classes and took my blades and walked out.

My daughters father has abused her through out her life, for many years I have kept her with therapists and kept her visits with dad to supervised. He has now gotten a judge to give him physical custody, claiming I moved (I didnt), we had a hearing where I proved I was still living in the same house, my daughter had repeated her accusations of her dad sexually abusing her to the CASA (victim assistant) worker, she testified that she didnt believe my daughter eventhough the therapists believed her and she had been consistant for years. Now the CASA worker says I should only have supervised visits & that is the only way the truth will come out. Is it me or is this b!!@@ an idiot? How is putting the child in the custody of the person she said abused her EVER A GOOD IDEA???? I dont know what to do, I am feeling lost & cant afford an attorney, plus Indiana doesnt appoint attorneys so I just plain dont know what to do for my daughter...I havent seen her in 6 months! ADVICE?

I got an email claiming i was left 400,000 + i thought it sounded like a scam.. it i got curious. I always ignore emails BUT this one mention a couple things that were true'.
it came from:

I got curious since it mention that i had been left money' to do a certain business ( which i had previously been involved in )

First i checked out the website of this firm.
Then called the office, the person answering says she's not sure why the deceased willed money to me or even knew me personally other than a newspaper article or he owned a copy of my book - shes not sure.

Anyone ever heard of this deal. ?

America doesn't seem to care about its state of citizen neglect by letting all kinds of illegal alien programs available to allure illegals over. I am disable and recieve 600.00 a month to live on, but yet illegals are getting all kinds of free progams to assist them. America can't even take care of what they have properly now. America needs to wake up because one day it will wake up in the poor house wondering how it got there in the first place. I'd like to sue the U.S. government for citizen neglet! What are your thoughts? No I'm not concerned about being politically correct either, and if you are, I will expect you to be politically correct when someone is robbing you or taking over your home by invasion and leaving you homeless.

For the purpose of education my child is non-denominational. So i would like her in a non-denominational school. She can not have a placement awarded in a primary school on the ground of non-denominationality since i live outside the catchment area. If she was roman catholic however, she would get a placement outside the rc school's catchment area on the ground of her religion. No wonder muslim schools are blooming. If i was one i would send my child to a muslim school rather than her be indoctrinated by a C of E funded school. So why are roman catholics schools allowed to apply positive discrimination (i pressume muslim schools are allowed this privilege too)? And why do community primary schools not have this luxury of choosing to educate the non-denominational children since their status is non-denominational as per statue ... (as opposed to C of E funded)?????
Had to fill in school application forms not long ago, should you wonder where this rant originates ...

My b/f and I were at a party with are friends and the party got rated so we when out side and we cross the street. The cops arrested a lot of people along with them they arrested my b/f. They release everyone one that night except my b/f he ended up going to jail they charge him with battery on a peace office. The peace office said that my b/f spit at him, which he didn’t. so what would be the worst thing that could happened to him?
