If my girlfriend breaks up with me and decides to cancel our family plan cell phones without my consent do i have to pay a part of the cancellation fee?

Who signed for the phone? If you signed her /and/or/ you, then yes she can cancel and yes you could be stuck..

What does the vendor say?

I'd have to read the contract carefully, but chances are that you are "jointly and severally liable" so they can demand YOU pay it ALL, even if you didn't even want to cancel.

On the other hand, you might call them and explain the situation, and see if they wouldn't rather keep you as a customer with a single phone, and be willing to modify the contract without a cancellation fee.

If she cancelled both of the plans without your consent and did not give you the option to continue the plan on your own, then I do not believe that you would have to pay the cancellation fee. (This assumes that both of your names where on the account).

Whoevers name is on the contract, meaning who has the main number.
