I keep on hearing people say gays shouldn't adopt or marry for certain reasons. If I recall these were the same reasons people used for not allowing interracial marriage and other things like integration.

Illegal invasion, deaths of 100,000s of thousands of innocent people, torture, etc.: all illegal under international law. Or does our power and wealth give us the right to ignore the law and the feelings of the rest of the world.

My brother passed, he was a single male and living in an apartment. My mother has recieved money from his 401k and two different insurance companies. now does she have to pay off any debts with that money? or should it be taken right out of his estate? the debts are two credit cards, one car, and funeral costs. the car dealer took the car and said if they dont get the full 8000 from auctioning it they'll charge her the difference. "can they do that?" so the biggest question is that after my mother recieved the 401k, and insurance monies can they come after her? she is not co-signed on anything, but is the benficary.

So now this wacky government has agreed to allow Muslims to hold their own law courts. What is happening to this country?
Do you agree they should hold their own courts of law? Why are we falling over our selves to be "nice" to these people. Why don't they get on with it like the rest of the people and abide by our rules, and no I am not racist.

My husband works for a prominent Fortune 500 Co. and works 50+ hours a week. He is salaried, considered management though no-one works below him, 10-12 hour days, sometimes w/o a lunch break are the norm.
He is the top performer in his dept. and has the Company reviews to prove it.
My husband shrugs and says "they can do whatever they want"
Is this true?
Is this legal?
Does my husband have any recourse, legal or otherwise?
Does he have a future of unfair wages & bloodshot eyes?

The five men sentenced to life today for plotting to bomb London, were not soldiers fighting a war, they were criminals. Patient and professional surveillance work done by the Police is what caught them.

Calling it "war" increases these murderers' sense of their own importance, it legitimises them and makes them heroes and martyrs. Sending our soldiers to Islamic countries to kill the inhabitants is a sure way to recruit more criminals.

I've been critical of the Police in the past, but this was a brilliant bit of work. The Police are the ones who will save us from terrorist crime, not the army.

There have been three incidents of harassment by neighbors in which the cops were called. I left 3 messages on the landlords voicemail yesterday and he has not returned any calls yet. What occurred has bordered on a hate crime, though no physical violence occured. If the landlord still refuses to call back or address the situation, what legal recourse do I have against the landlord?

An estimate was prepared when I scheduled their appointment. I was told the office staff would verify this estimate with my insurance company to receive a confirmation of what services would be covered and if there was any problem, they would let me know. I agreed to this estimate and scheduled the next appointment. AFTER (not before) the completion of all services at the end of the next appointment, I was told they were not able to contact my insurance company to verify any coverage information. I paid the estimated amount and instructed the woman to file the claim with the insurance company and I would wait to hear the result. The next call I got was from a collections company saying the ins co didn't pay. At that point I talked with ins co and they said there was no coverage since dentist was not in network. Now I am faced with huge bill I never would have agreed to if I would have known up front ins wouldn't pay. Has anyone sued for this before? What was the result?

They say you must write a letter requesting that they look into your case. But they are not getting back to me either. So I called the D.A. to see if I could file contempt of court through them ; and they said they need a referrel from Child Suppport. But they are no help either. Okay this is what is happening. My boyfriend has a troubled 15 yr old son who is in and out of juvey. They ordered for him to have a counselor. When they sat it up they said EVERYTHING would be confidential that the son would talk about w/ her and nothing would be discussed w/ anyone. He told her so many personal things and stuff he has never told anyone. Im sure alot a it was bad. But he did it because he was told none of it can be discussed w/ any 1 else and no 1 could find out about it.
Well he is in big trouble and they are planning on taking him out of the home for a year or so. At the last court date the judge ordered all of the paperwork from the counselor so he could look over it w/ the probation officer.
My b/f thinks its illegal b/c he was told it was confidential. He is looking for proof that it is illegal cuz hes "certain" it is. He said if he finds it is then he will be able to have a diff. judge for his son and he may not be taken away. Is this illegal?
