Also if you can think of a type of program that would benefit child sex abuse survivors/victims, what would it consist of?

Since the majority of child sex abuse is against girls and by family members/friends, increasing the numbers of programs about bad touching is a good thing. This benefits everybody. You also have to include ways to get past threats (if you tell, Mommy will go away, Daddy will die).

People want child molestors to be killed, or put in jail for life, and rightly so. The thing about sex offenders that disturbs me, is the fact that so many people who offend have once been victims, so what do you do to break the cycle?

Society makes the laws and sexual molestation is possibly the worst stigma that can be attached to anyone, so in effect difficulties arise when trying to keep track of these people and especially trying to work with them in a program, so we may learn and stop an ongoing cycle that seems to have been there since time began.

I think, and this is a hard thing to say, but I think if we could just be slightly more tolerant of these offenders we might be able to get to the bottom of the vicious circle that seems to go forth into every generation.

I don't think that there is a program to help since a lot of the offenders are in positions of trust for the children. Parents, teachers, relatives, etc. The problem is that a few make the problem for the rest. The fear of being charged makes people not want to get close and help children. A lot of teachers and coaches are afraid to help kids because they may be charged.
One thing that needs to stop is a second time. Whether it is segregation or physical/drug castration. But we need to make sure that there is truth in the accusation.

If it is true that offenders are usually those who were victims in the past, then we need less tolerance, not more. By being tolerant, we allow the offenders to make more victims and more future offenders where they could have been prevented.

I'm all for pschology and counseling to try to figure out how to break the chain with the victims, and help them not become offenders themselves, but we can't be tolerant with the source and expect to get anywhere.

Good mothers AND fathers is a pretty good program.
