and also if you're the passenger with a driver who is smoking, will you get in trouble also?

WOW- some of the answers you have gotten are so OUT there, its pretty sad. Let me start off by saying, you are young, and by NO means am i saying that it is okay to smoke Weed, Acually at 16, you should be worrying about finishing high school, and not about hiding your weed. My parents have always been very open with me and my siblings, they have smoked for as long as I can remember. When I turned 18 (which is the legal age to smoke), my parents sat me down and offered me some weed. I thought it was strange, but they figured, if I was going to smoke, at least I would be doing it at home, and I would be safe. AND IN NO WAY ARE MY PARENTS IDIOTS! Both have been smoking since they were 14 yrs. old! If you are taking care of you buisness, In and out of school, Keeping good grades, working, or whatever the case may be, I say sit down with your parents, and tell them why you smoke. In recent studies, there has been NO reports of overdose by weed. EVERY other drug you can overdose on. However, you have to make sure that you are being responisable about it! Try to talk to your parents. Pull up information on weed..There is a lot of websites these days! I hope it all works out for you!

Guilt by association my friend is not a pretty thing.
You must be a teenager. Adults who smoke pot can do it at home. Don't drive around and get high dude. If you can't figure out on your own how to do it and not get caught, you probably shouldn't be doing it.

It's pretty easy to get caught. If the officer suspects and pulls you over, the car will smell like a whorehouse. If he has reasonable cause, he can search the car. And even if you get away with it, driving while high is just stupid. And you aren't stupid....right?

Well, if you go out of your mind while high, i'd say it is easy to get caught.
If you are the passenger, I think that you and the driver could get screwed for possession.

As a longtime smoker, let me give you a bit of advice.
It's very foolish (and dangerous) to smoke when driving.
Smoking dope is best after one has finished everything for the day, and your car is safely put away for the night.

I would assume if you were using your knees to steer the wheel of your car while doing bong hits, while in line for a police sobriety road block, it would be oh SO easy to get caught.

if too much smoke gets out the window.... the cops might check it out for a "routin stop"....be careful on whatever you do...because some people on the road might see you and they might report you on their cell phone..
