How do you feel about the current way of showing adult-oriented programs only after a certain time?

Do you feel they shouldn't or should be advertised? Why?

Any other opinions/comments?

Good point, addition to anyone who wants to answer another question:

Is pornography/sexual advertisements too easy to find on the internet? Should we somehow curb them?

(As with many of my questions, this is open-ended and I don't endorse either opinion.)

Yes, thats what i think too. I think thats the reason why people are having sex at a much younger age now as they are more expose to it. Beside, it might also be the reason why people start having different sex partner. I often encounter a lot of nude and sex advertisment on the websites as a pop-out. It will be a bad influence if a youngster read it.

I totally agree with inzaratha.

My answer will concern tv in general...while the commercials are bad sometimes, I feel the television shows are as bad or worse.

I am a dad, with two daughters, 7 and 9.

We don't even watch tv, except for the news. No cable.

I have one show I watch without the kids (Numb3rs - what can I say? I teach math!) but that's it...and sports from time to time.

TV is crap. Ever since MTV came out, things went downhill fast.

And it's more than just the sex though. It's the sexual innuendos. Over and over and over, satisfying to real purpose.

I'm not a prude...but I want my kids to be raised with a sense of decency.

Unfortunately, with so many parents working two jobs, and providing cable, many kids watch really inappropriate shows (and the commercials that go with them) all the time...from a young age.

Society is headed down the tubes.

I honestly believe that the invention of TV was spectacular, but with everything good, the brings his bad. Always. There isn't much of anything good on TV. I long for the days of the Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligans Island, Brady Bunch. TV corrupts our youth. I might get garbage for this statement, but it is true. If we didn't have TV, our teens wouldn't feel they have to be rail thin to be accepted. They wouldn't think it is O.K. to sleep around with anyone and everyone from the ripe old age of 9+ (maybe even younger). This is a sick world and I am afraid that media is a large sore that is spreading with no cure. No cure, because they aren't willing to accept what they are putting out there is bad and they refuse to take responsiblity for anything. Including partly some of the actions of people that live out scenes from violent shows or video games. Do I need to say any more. Kick it to the street. It belongs in the gutter.

Yes I feel there are way too many!
I was watching the Ten Commandments of all things with my kids when they came on with all sorts of inappropriate ads. And many start at 6 or 7 during prime time, when I am watching tv with my kids. The show we are watching is fine but the ads are really embarrassing. I don't want to see ads for Victoria's secret or PussyCat Dolls while my kids are watching tv. In fact, I don't want to see them at all!
I feel there should be none of that on tv or only after 11 pm.

I do not subscribe to cabel, these are all on network and local stations. And I am not a religious fanatic, just a mom with decent morals.

yes i think there are too many advertisements and either they should be reduced or banned also i think adds targeting children should be banned cereal adds in particular so it can be seen whether or not children chose cereal on their own also soft drink adds should be banned i would not feel comfortable with the use of so many sex adds for advertisement plants an idead in the head of the viewer not there before it is a form of mind control convincing someone to buy something they do not want i dislike being told what to buy i want to make the descision myselfthat said i do not watch cable t.v. i also dislike car adds in previews of rented movies piracy adds where viewers are told of penalties imposed for pirating dvd's of movies which made millions or are worth nothing at all which people should be paid to watch but people are warned nonetheless that they would be punished if they pirated them

No, I think there is entirely too much violence on television, and that is having a bigger effect on our youth than the sexuality on television. I think the problem with our society is that Americans are too prudish and it shows in every aspect of society. You can remedy this by limiting your childs exposure to graphic material on television, but the negative side to this is the streets is now teaching your child about sex.

Would you like to buy this incredibly pointless nasal hair trimmer that breaks the 0th time you use it... no?

Why not, it will improve your sex life!

Its amazing to me.

People consider sexy programs "obscene."

But showing peoplebutchering one another is okay.

Real interesting set of priorities there.
