I was talking to my bf who is visiting his grandmother a few hours away. When i asked why he wasn't saying much he told me that his grandmothers daughter who lives down the street is tapping the phone line and prob listening to our convos. I was furious because earlier we had a private convo that I def didn't want anyone to hear. Their tapping the line because their afraid she will talk to another family member and cut them out of the will and they want a heads up. Since it was not my phone being tapped, but my conversation being heard, do i have rights to stop this or prosecute?

If you clock in 5 minutes early, (which were allowed to do, before they changed it)they will round it up to the hour, as well as, if you clock out 5 minutes after your time they round it back. Example: I work from 9:30 to 6:00. If I punch in at 9:25 its 9:30 and if I leave at 6:35, its 6:30. Is this legal in California?

That could involve any number of things. Although the fact that in his statement he said "i am not gay", it gives me a good idea that another man was involved.

Is there a site that shows which European countries are least strict on Marijuana and hash use? I hear in Asia they really crack down on you for using/having it but in Europe they are significantly less strict about it than in the United States.

This one guy my brother introduced me to, wanted me to help him create a homepage for his website. He wrote me a check for $200 and I cashed it, but i never did the work, that was a month ago. Im not going to do the work for him (just because I dont feel like it) and he said to expect him to file a suit.

My question is this, does he really have a case againstme? No contract was signed. I could just say he owed me money and thats why i cashed the check.

That is, can they declare I do not own it, to a mortgage lender for example. And say NO ONE owns it, or my resident sister owns it. Or my deceased father owns it. (Since he receives the monthly maintenance bill, which I pay with my own check, having the address of the apt on the check.)
I have paid two lawyers to put my name on the apt, without success. I paid $20,000 to the 2nd lawyer, without success. He shouted at me, "They have a RIGHT to do that !!"

I paid an initial fee of $750 June 29. As of, August 31 my husband has not been served, she will not return my calls, etc.

I sent a letter to release her and recover some of my money. She finally called before she recieved the letter. She said she had been in court.

I finally talked to her this week and she said she would have to check with her assistant.

I do not know what my next step should be.

Serious legal responses only.

my neighbor again has asked: "When a police officer came to my house asking me questions, after my neighbors called and lied and said I had been cutting their bushes etc, did I have to talk to him or could I have refused until I had consulted my lawyer and could I have requested to get my hand held tape recorder first before he started asking questions ? What are my rights here, I can't afford to pay $100's of dollars an hour for an attorney for these kinds of questions. Any lawyers, officers, attorneys. legal aides here ?

My sister had her neighbors call the police on her and said she had been cutting their bushes and all kinds of lies. While the police officer was talking to her, he started talking about the lady, Ann, down the street who is a diagnosed schizophrenic and at times goes off her meds. The officer was talking about the details of how Ann was taken in various times and committed at a specific hospital and dates and details. Don't police officers have some kind of code of ethics where they are not supposed to, like priests in confession, tell others about incidents with their nieghbors ? I have no idea so I am asking for her.

In Florida- can a lawyer not file a mortage as part of the agreement when hired- for non-payment of his fees. He wouldn't return my calls to find out why he didn't file my mortgage so I stopped paying him. He called me for the money. I had to start paying him again but it took him 18 months to file the mortgage after it was signed. What rules of ethics has he violated??

Hello everyone. I just finished up jury duty yesterday, and I'd love your opinions on how this trial should have ended. Here it is in a nutshell....An 18 year old boy was driving with his friend as the passenger. He was driving at least 70-80 on a country road. He purposely excelerated at a railroad track to try to "catch air"...meaning go airborne over the tracks. Upon doing so, he lost control of the car, swirved all over the road, went into the ditch, hit rocks, flew some more, and the car rolled. He had a few scratches; his friend died. Would you consider this "careless driving" described as negligence while driving a vehicle, or "vehicular homicide" which is described as "grossly negligent" driving. It all comes down to "negligent" verses "grossly negligent." No drinking or drugs involved. So what do you think....negligent driving or grossly negligent. We had varying outlooks while deliberating, and I'd like your input (and maybe some peace of mind!). Thanks!

I just had an interesting conversation with my woman and she argued a very good case of abuse of powers by law enforcement. As much as I loathe such behavior, at the point of his arrest, what law was actually broken. If a guy signaled to a woman that he was enterested, with no intent to exchange any currency...could he too have been arrested?!?!...and on what charge??? Only if the now former Senator, actually engaged in sexual activity in the stall, which didn't happen..what is he going to be charged for???....Hitting on a guy!?
This is something that needs to be looked at....
What do you think....and lets keep the emotions out...ok!?

When using all five senses:
If it looks kinda fine print fishy, and
if it sounds like horeb-bull, and
if it smells kinda pewy, and
if it tastes kinda sweet & bitter, and
if it feels like hell when it's swallowed, well then...
perhaps it's law: is both good and evil, ends evil.

SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY. Please be detailed, too.
I am thinking of opening a handmade soap business, and I know I should get insurance to cover against frivolous lawsuits. I also plan to make lists of ingredients available and encourage buyers to read it before purchasing and also having a 100% money back guarantee. Also if I write a disclaimer stating that not responsible for medical bills or pain and suffering from using soaps and if I list my ingredients will I still be sued and lose? Or, will I win based on this? Will I be covered if the person can't read or didn't take the time to read it? Stupidity on their part right? I have heard from watching People's Court (I think?) that if a business states that they are not responsible; for example, for damage to a person's car (it was a car wash) they will be able to win the lawsuit. At least, that's what happened when I watched and what the judge said.
Being sued is my biggest fear and turn-off about owning a business. Thanks!
