my fince is in jail at the moment and we want to get married so we wanted to know if they allow that and what steps i need to take to get that done

Wait until he gets out and drive over the line into Kingsport. It will be more romantic. You can drive up to Colonial Heights and cruise around.

why rush into getting married is what i am wondering...if he is a great guy then wait for him to do his time. just because he is in jail doesn't mean crap! there are so many people that get away with stuff everyday and then the not so lucky ones that end up getting caught for doing the same thing...people change over time and honey i would totally wait to see how he changes and then make your decision from there...

Are you crazy? How badly do you want a husband who is a drug addict or alcholic, can't hold a job, ends up in jail again leaving you to take care of your kids yourself, beats you and your kids, and then your sons will take after him, and be criminals and in jail to so you can visit them there as well? Also, your sons will get shot because they will be in gangs just like your husband. Remember I said this when you're standing over their graves.

First, why would you want to get married while he is in jail? Can't you wait for him to get released? If he's in jail, he should be released within 1 year, unless he's in jail awaiting trial on charges.

Second, you should contact the jail directly to find out their procedures. I don't think most jails will allow its prisoners to get married (although if the fiance was in prison, he probably would be able to get married).
If he is in jail awaiting trial on various charges, you may want to ask his defense attorney because, perhaps, arrangements can be made for the judge who he appears in front of, to marry you next time your fiance is in court.
