Just Curious. Is it true that if a man were to call police on a woman, because she assaulted him, the police would either not attend the call, or laugh and spit in the man's face? Is it true that if a woman wants to get revenge on her spouse in some way, all she has to do is fabricate a story that her husband or boyfriend assaulted her in some way, and the police will attend IMMEDIATELY and lock up the husband/boyfriend EVEN IF THEY FIND OUT IT'S NOT TRUE? Is it also true that the court would convict the man, even if they know the man is innocent? I'm just exagerating a little bit, but I would like to hear from police and judges the TRUTH on this. Is it fair? Is it ENCOURAGED in North American culture to ALWAYS favour women over men, and BASH men at every opportunity?

It has been established scientifically and medically that cigarette smoking is a health hazard, not only to the smoker, but also to those persons subjected to the second-hand smoke. As a result, sales and profits for tobacco companies have declined significantly in the U. S. Cigarette smoking is increasing in some parts of the world, especially in Asia, with a steadily increasing demand for American-made cigarettes. The sale of American cigarettes to this growing Asian market can generate literally billions of dollars in sales over the next few years. Many of the restrictions the tobacco companies face in the U. S. do not exist in these Asian nations, nor are there any restrictions on advertising. However, the health hazards posed by consumption of the product are the same as those faced in the U. S.

QUESTION: From an ethical perspective, what should American cigarette manufacturers do under these circumstances?

A re-habilitation place, punishment place or a mulyi-million dollar busissnes where the profit is human lifes? Why is society building so many prisons at the same time cutting off programs in education , health and social services? Should we not instead make it a priority to our young people and EDUCATE them to a safe and secure future that now is non-existent to them?

Downloading music and movies - Is it becoming accepted?
Why does stealing from a shop and downloading music "feel" morally different? Is it because friends are doing it too?

I am not a American nor am i a black person ,
I know little about the Young history of America ,..
I thought I knew much more then most Americans about my idol ,Abraham Lincoln,,how naive can i get ,i am gutted
,,Was this what he said !!!!
I will say, then that i am not nor ever, in favor of brining about in any way the social and political equality of the black races ,that i am not or ever have been ,in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office ,nor to inter marry with white people ... while they do remain togather there must be the postum of superior and inferior, and as much as any other man i am in favor of having the superior postion assigned to the white race,,

I cannot believe that,, can some one tell me he was only joking when he said those words,,oh my god ,how can this be ,,I feel empty inside ,I feel like part of me has abandoned me,,what dose the black folks say about this ???? I am left without a hero

What should I do if I knew people committing fraud? They file fax w2's each yr and here i am stuck paying back each yr for making too much money, these people are unemployeed and has never had a job. And then have the nerve to get mad because they got less this yr than last and is collecting welfare child care money and has no supervision, watching or baby sitting no one child this is a 2,200 a month and got supposely 1,800 in taxes.
What do i do?
It makes me mad because i work hard and sometimes to tired to go and have fun and here they sit on their a**es and get paid.
I think the system should hire me and others to go to the homes of everyone on welfare and if working, fraud, have babies dad or others there boot them out.
WELFARE IS FOR ASSITANCE NOT FOREVER!!
1-2yrs max and your a** is off no matter what, it does not take more than 2 yrs to get your sh** 2gether, then the people who needs it can't get on or get it. OUR SYSTEM IS F**KED

If I could change the Judicial system, I would force criminals, from graffiti "artists" to theives, rapists to murderers to compensate their victims, or their survivors fully. I have been victimized several times, having my truck and tools stolen, a utility trailer stolen, my house broken into, my boat stolen and more. If these consciousless crooks were made to repay their victims, crime would be reduced dramatically with much fewer repeat offenders. In the case of rape or murder, the convicted felons should have to work the rest of their useless lives in prison, if need be to earn money to compensate for their transgressions. This would be a win/win situation, with victims getting back what was taken, damaged or destroyed and criminals forced out of crime by the work and time involved in repaying the victim. The simplicity would clear the courts, reduce the need for lawyers and what they skim off of what the victims receive and probably clear out the prisons. What do you think?

What are your thoughts on the proposed I.D card scheme? Do you think it would be a monumental waste of money better spent on improving the security services etc. Would it be an infringement on civil liberties and freedom?

In my opinion I think the death penalty should be reinstated for people who:
-Murder
-Rape
-Or abuse Children, if there is solid evidence
Why should tax payers be forced to keep these vile people in a cosy prison with tv's, games rooms when the crimes they have commited are appauling. These people have more money spent on their meals than an average hospital patient, its ridiculous! Then after their short spell in prison they will recieve benefits. These people should be tortured! How would you feel if a loved one was one of their victims?

I have a daughter soon to be 13, and she hasn't seen hide nor hare of her father since she was 6 months old. He has been over seas in Italy, and I think based out of Morgantown W.V. He told them that he didn't have any kids, but he signed a declaration of paternity when she was born. He also has her name tattood accross his back larger than life, so can I get back payed from the Army? He is active duty now, and in Afghanistan, he is married and has one step daughter. I looked at his myspace, and he bought matching 2006 Harleys for him and his wife. I messaged him, saying that must have set him back atleast 12 years in child support. No answer back. He has made absolutely no effort to contact me or my kid...(Wonder why)

P.S. This is why 17 year olds should not have babies. You think it will last for ever, and then you end up in situations like this.

nj spends 500.00 to 2000.00 dollards per person arrested for child support each time there arrested. they can only be held for a set number of days in jail all of which cost the tax payers more money. only to be released with small or no payment made.then there expected to find a job and get their drivers lic. restored in two weeks or repeat the process. i understand the child support has to be payed but this system is a joke and the only people really paying is tax payers. why?

Complex question, but bear with me. I am on an exchange year in Ottawa from London, England, and recently an employee at the local supermarket chain Loeb overcharged my credit card. Instead of $20, he charged me $2000! He noticed this and refunded me instantly, however due to the difference in the BUY AND SELL RATE of the dollar, I ended up losing almost $100 in the process.

Now Loeb refuse to compensate me in any way - can I force this legally at all,I find it disgusting exploitation of the customer?!

My fiance and I are not wild peole and we did not destroy the headboard... we didnt notice if there was any damage when we left. Do you think that they can charge $150.00 and get away with it? or do you think that they would have to provide proof that we did it? any thoughts would be great and if anyone knows of a legal site that may help me that would be great as well.

Apparently the agreement said she had right to occupancy and use of home and as soon as mortgage paid in full title would be transferred to her name (it was in hubby's name only). She has been paying mortgage for 4-years now. Her husband fought alimony on grounds that she was obtaining all the equity in the home (letter from his lawyer to her states this as grounds for refusing alimony). Now her husband has gone and taken out and equity loan on the home???? Sounds like her lawyer forgot to close some loops???

This just seems wrong that he could do that. He is taking $50K
