I saw a site that said as of April 25 2003, 28 states have banned spanking in all public schools, but they had no link to see if my state(Missouri) is one of them.

Why must doctors be forced to subscribe to golfing magazines???...

My doctor doesn't even PLAY golf!...and still the AMA and the California Medical Association pressure him to have NOTHING but golfing magazines in his lobby and patient room at all times!...

They made him cancel his subscriptions to:Martha Stewart Living, Road and Track, Car and Driver, Sunset, etc. and signred him up for golfing lessons(which he tried to cancel out on, but got threatened w/ his medical license revocation if he did that!)...

Also, why the strictly-enforced stereotype of doctors playing golf on Wednesdays?...

Is the US government a legal entity that can be named as a victim of a crime? Of this sort of crime, in specific? Just wondering, because of a link that was suggested to me, that seems to do just this sort of thing.

I see a lot of answers from people stating "your are guaranteed a lawyer paid for by the state..." concerning legal and criminal matters. Do people out there realize that you must qualify as indigent to have an attorney provided for your. Basically, if you qualify for various social welfare programs, you are indigent. If you don't qualify for those programs, you are likely not indigent, and they do not have to "provide you with an attorney at no charge."

Where people get this information that everyone is guaranteed an attorney is beyond me.

I used a certain shuttle service and was charged almost 30% gratuity directly to my credit card. The only charge that was directly stated in an email to me was the actual fee ($51) for the shuttle service and "gratuities, toll, and parking" which were not directly stated. I called the company to see what the extra charge was and was told that it was for gratuity as there were no tolls or parking fees. Is it legal for a company to charge an undefined amount of gratuity and make you pay for it? Can I legally ask the company to take the gratuity charge off of my bill as I gave the driver a cash tip? I did not know at that time that the gratuity had already been charged to my credit card.

My daughter went onto the internet looking for a Yorkie puppy for her three little girls and found a sight advertising Yorkies for sale. Will not mention the name of the web sight at this time. She was promised a puppy which she paid for by sending money to the person advertising. She received telephone verification and was told that the puppy would be delivered to her door. She also received an e-mail stating that the company delivering her puppy was in her area, but could not find her house. She tried to call the same person who had called her to tell him how to get to her home. No answer. Tried to e-mail him, no response. We later found out that the puppy was supposed to have been shipped from Pennsylvania. The web address and contact person was in California. Bogus telephone no. and bogus web address.

How can anyone get away with swindling people and feel good about it. Is there anyway these people can be tracked down and stopped? Would appreciate any help.

Why hasn't marijuana been legalized, seriously? Wouldn't Big Tobacco benefit? Why are alcohol and tobacco legit, but marijuana sits in "decriminalized limbo"?

I made a mutual agreement with someone over a series of internet messages and a phone call. The agreement was for me to purchase a particular item from him, I'll pay him over internet banking and he'll send it out to me.
I pay up, he claims to have sent it and obviously I never got hold of it. He produces evidence that he purchased an express post envelope, which doesn't mean he's posted it, and a bank statement showing that he withdrew a sum of money to purchase the item I was to purchase.
However, his evidence lacked the receipt of the purchase.. I mean, he could've used the money to do other things! And, I checked with Australia Post and the particular express post article never reached its sorting centre to be scanned.
He therefore clearly breached our contract by 1) not posting the item, 2) probably never had the item to start with, & 3) the contract clearly stated the item be posted on 24/01 yet he posted on 25/01.
What other evidence I need to win a civil lawsuit against him

I was pulled over by the Marshall University Security on 14th of November in Huntington West Virginia about 6:30 in the afternoon. They said I was weaving on the road which I turned at the corner of 16th street and proceeded to the far left lane. I cut away from a construction site on 5th avenue to avoid a rut created by the construction. They also said that I had defective equipment which I had proof to the contrary. The Judge would not look at my evidence. They turned on their spotlight through the back window which blinded me. This can be confirmed by my witness in the automobile. They also accused me of being drunk which this would be impossible because I do not drink. I attended a hearing and the Judge would not accept my evidence. Also I said to call my witness which he refused. My witness could not attend the hearing because she had a total hip replacement. It was also stated that the Marshall University Security offered me a deal which was totally false.

My friend was arrested after a really foolish incident- going into his ex's apartment. He's being charged as breaking and entering. He's got a good job and hopefully he won't have any jail time. (His record WAS crystal clean.) Is there any way he could lose his job? Do jobs run random background checks?
