It's taking me awhile to wrap my brain around what you've said, but I wanted to say this...

I have toyed with the idea of being an anarchist (by now, I know better) meaning that there would be no government. Things would go back to way back when, when people just lived in villages, there was no money, people traded for the things they needed, like I'll give you some potatoes for your eggs. You know? But you know what would happen? This village would probably appoint a leader, then there would be a leader that would oversee several villages, etc. etc. etc. until the world became again what it already is today. This is what people Naturally do. We NEED society. We CREATE society. We ARE society. There is just no way to exist without it.

So, yes, without society, there would probably be no morals, laws, or controlled civilization. I just don't think that would ever happen though. People wouldn't let that happen, because we naturally fall into an organized civilization. I can't help you with the obligation thing; that is still beyond me...

This imbalance implies the following:
1 - Value of the individual to the society is reduced.
2 - Value gained by the society from individuals collectively is reduced.
3 - Society reacts by looking for ways to increase the number of individuals adding much value to the society and reducing the number of individuals adding little value to the society.
4 - Society reacts by looking for ways to increase the value individuals add to the society.
5 - Society gets weak-knee'd and loses much of its ability to sustain itself and the individuals relying upon it.
6 - Society goes into chaos.
7 - Society is no longer civilized.

What you are looking at is actually the difference between Socialism and Democracy. It may sound crazy, but please do some research. You'll be amazed. Also, note that Socialism and Communism are NOT the same thing!
