One of these law makers want to make light bulbs illegal, you can only use fluorescent lights.

It's nice that they want to save electricity, and I use them too, but they do put off ultra violet rays and electromagnetic radiation.

You can't use them in all situations, would you want to replace your chandelier bulbs with those fluorescent bulbs.

I think most people are doing pretty good at saving electricity and using some fluorescent bulbs, I don't think we need some stupid law to tell us what kind of lights to have in our house.

What do you think?

Seriously, can anyone name ONE think the government has NOT, at least slightly, screwed up?

Can anyone name ONE time that government sponsorship has turned into a good thing? NO!

I think we can all agree that our government is slightly, if not greatly, incompetent, and really do not represent us as well as we would like.

So why would we trust them with our health care? How about instead, we lower taxes so that people can afford their own health care? And if some people complain that the rich will get a higher tax break (which makes sense, because they pay more taxes), then we can issue a tax credit, where everyone will get the same amount back.

How much is decent health care? $2000 a year? Mine is somewhat paid for by my company, so I am not sure of the total cost, but say we give everyone a $2500 tax credit for health care. Will that work?

And the funny thing is, the Liberals are the most gung-ho about this, even though they complain about the government the most!!!

They claim that there can be no exemptions to anti-discrimination laws, yet a few years ago they passed an act granting political parties exemptions from sex discrimination laws, so that they could give women candidates preferential treatment.

Therefore they have already conceded that exemptions can be made!

I was recently evicted from the college bookstore for collecting information about the books assigned for classes, including the isbn number the price of the books.

I publish the ISBN and price information on the Internet so students at my university can compare the price of the books with online retailers such as Amazon.

I have two questions:

1. Do stores own the copyright of product and pricing information?
2. Can any store manager evict any customer for any reason? Am I trespassing if I refuse to leave?

Thanks for your help!

In the news article, some senior politician demands that the police stop their cash-for-honours probe cause it's damaging to the political system. See the link:

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/31012007/344/call-end-cash-honours-probe.html

Hang on! I thought that the police is supposed to be an independent body that is free to investigate wrongdoings and put forward those who've committed crimes to justice? What gives this guy the right to demand that the police stop doing that just because it's getting too close for comfort for Blair and his cronies?

I spent a fair some on a peice of software that is supposed to help me find and calculate certain financial ventures. The software dosen't work and brings up an abiguas list of nonesense. I have contacted the supplier and they keep saying they would be getting it fixed. I got so fed up I insisted on a refund. They refused and now they have blocked my login. If I am forced to take them to court what peice of law can I get them on?

Im not pretentious to think that others cant think for theirselves.I believe people can make their OWN choices. To me NO abortion is the right CHOICE, but we have to offer a choice first.Taking away freedom to choose would kill the idealogy of what Americans fought & died for. Jesus taught compassion and not to judge thats why im PROCHOICE.

Abortion is a medical procedure that should be discussed btwn the woman & her doctor. Ive no right to infringe in her privacy. Would you want someone going thru YOUR medical records/history? You have no right to go thru MY medical records. Ive no right taking away a persons rights, born/unborn.
Im AGAINST abortion.I DESPISE abortion & if I were a woman Id NEVER have one. BUT Im male & wouldnt know how it is so I wont JUDGE her circumstances. I wouldn't know if she was raped, whether the pregnancy will hurt her and the child's health, psych problems etc. Its NOT my business. Its a SENSITIVE issue. Its a MEDICAL issue btwn her and her M.D.

We're just selling our house and have just found out the loft conversion was done without any planning or building regulations! This didn't show up on any search when we bought the place 7 1/2 years ago - if it had we would have walked away.

What come-back do we have on the original solicitors and how can I get this conversion 'Legal' so I can sell it?

To make matters worse, we have to move by early March or the new job will fall through!

HELP!!!

As a smoker living in Scotland I haven't really felt any impact of the Smoking Ban. I'm going out as much and pubs have adapted covered areas outside for smokers. The only place I miss it is in restuarants as I love a cigarette after a meal.

Some people have argued that making older people stand out in the rain when they're at things like Bingo is only going to put a bigger strain on the NHS and people have argued that a lot of smokers are staying home, thus exposing their children to more smoke than usual.

All in all I'm a smoker who's happy with the ban and it certainly hasn't made me consider stopping....and I don't need a lecture on why I should, I'm perfectly aware of that. Are you looking forward to the ban or not?
