Because liberals do not think logically. They believe that if guns did not exist, then murder rates would go down. They live in a land of make-believe because that's all their brains can handle. If they had to logically debate their opinions, their heads would explode.

Other countries have been kind enough to prove the point with their reckless gun control laws. Sure, deaths by guns go down, but the murder rate does not decline. People just find other methods of killing those that they wish to be dead.

If some young, strong criminal breaks into the home of an average sized person, what chance to they have at hand-to-hand combat? The criminal is going to win each and every battle. However, if the innocent citizen has a gun, he has a real chance of protecting himself.

God created man. Samuel Colt made them equal.

AMERICANS seem to have gotten either fat and lazy or just brainwashed. The right to keep and bear arms does not say to keep a 22 to shoot a crack head. The had just gotten done fighting a different king George, who by the way tried to take their guns, as a gun was the only way to fight back against a tyrannical government. The argument against a horde of AK47s might be true if like the old days we all had the same gun. if the feds all have m16s and citizens all have pelet guns good luck defending your rights. Its time americans see the government lies about everything including why they want to limit your right to own a gun. NO IM NOT A GUN NUT IM A FELON I CANT OWN ONE
hah see your laws at work im the only one to still have a gun after they take yours good luck

Because when a 15 year old shoots a 16 year old in Philly at 4 am on a Tuesday, everyone in the media asks "where did he get the gun?" and not "where were both of their parents?" People think laws are whats going to change things rather than calling out and punishing bad parents. Most social problems can be related to bad parenting. Right now everyone seems to be blaming video games for violence and not the parents that buy thier 12 year old grand theft auto. Parents will do whatever they can to shut up their kid be it buying a violent video game to ignoring the warning signs of them becomming violent.

"If guns were outlawed, then only outlaws would have guns."

I completely agree with you, although I don't even own a gun. That's not because I'm "anti-gun", it's because I CHOOSE not to own a gun. I have no problems with other people legally owning guns, as long as they accept the responsibility that goes along with it (which it appears you do).

How many gang members actually legally purchase guns? Probably none. It would be way too easy to track them down by the serial number and gun registration if they did. They buy them illegally, and would continue to buy them illegally if guns were outlawed.

(Aside to leaptad: The spell check button when asking a question only checks the spelling of the question, NOT the details.)

I agree with you.I live in Texas and guess what?I can't ever remembering hearing of kids hurting themselves with guns in my area, which seems to be a big argument. Then again, that could be because they are taught about them from a young age and those kids know better. To a certain age you do need to keep them locked up of course, because a 2 year old isn't going to understand it probably. But that is the duty of the parents.
Oh and guns do have other purposes.Hunting and sport. That's what they're mainly used for here.So yes, they do have other purposes.
By the way,I'm currently in school and if I wanted to,I could jump up and kill somebody right now.Know why?Because I have a pen right beside.

I'm so glad that I don't live in a country where people can walk the street legally carrying a concealed weapon. I know people can be killed by other means, but firearms are just too easy. Carrying one suggests you'd be prepared to use it. I hope that you have an extremely patient nature, a stress free life and no money pressures. I also hope that you don't visit here!

Simple, really. The Liberal Press is always harping on the 'dangers' of guns. Guns represent the one obstacle to their wet dreams of power. If they go too far, Americans with guns can always stop them. And THAT kind of power is 'unfair' to them. So they have to brainwash people into voluntarily giving up their 4th Amendment rights. Nice, huh?

So many people in our contry are now totally ignorant. "The right of individuals to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." These are the words of our forefathers. They realized that is how our country won its independence from an oppressive government. The power should always stay with lawabiding people. If you make it illegal to own a gun, do you think criminals are going to then turn in their guns? Is it not our right to protect ourselves, our family, and our property. Lots of men have died for us to have this right... lets not shame them.

It's NOT because different people have different opinions, it's because some people think they're entitled to IMPOSE their opinions on others.

We're not talking about a survey on whether you like guns or own one, but rather whether you're ANTI-gun - i.e., whether you support BANNING them.

I have my opinions about a lot of things. I think plastic lawn ornaments and most Christmas lights are tacky. But I don't try to get them BANNED.
