Social Worker… if you are living in a half way house or any type of supervised institution… yes, she can take you ring and hold it for safe keeping…

It that is not the case… and she has no intent of returning it to you ... That is theft and no she can not… First file you must a police report... if you do have to sue her in small claim court to get it back.. it will be your word against hers… so if there are any witnesses ask then for written statements… the court's often provide legal guidance, low filing fees and you dont need a lawyer to file..

More to this story???
A social worker may not seize your property. Seizing property is done by local law enforcement and then only under the authority of a warrant or a court order.
Two things you can do: file theft charges. Complain to her boss.

What the hell? Are you joking?

Is she going to give it back to you at any time? Did she keep it?

Tell us the whole story!

That doesn't seem right or ethical... but you are a minor so I'm sure stranger things have happened in the system.

It is unfortunate, I am sorry that happened to you... What a beeatch!

If she took something that belongs to you, then yes, that is theft. Instead of suing her, have her brought up on charges. Contact your local police.
