I'd like to have a Jack Dempsey along with a couple other fish, but I don't want have the fish die right away. Neon Tetras would be another preference of mine, but if they need several to school with, I don't want to have only those fish in my tank. I know a Betta would do well but I would rather have something less common. Thanks for your help.

I would only like a male and female. I have heard some dwarfs only get to 3 inches or so. Please supply types that are usually available at most petco's and pets stores.

I have 1 male Convict Chichlid and 2 female Mbuna chichlids in a 30gallon tank with caves and plants. I frequently change and relocate their caves and hiding places. Is this to many fish in my tank, if not can I put anything else in there? Or do I need to upgrade to a bigger tank?

Thanks for the help!

i am moving from michigan to arkansas for college and want to take my 6 baby guppies and 1 baby molly with me. i would leave them here and get new ones there, but i dont want my little brother (who is caring for my other fish) to have to care for them too. what is the best way to get them there? individual containers all in cooler? i'm not too worried about them getting too cold because it'll be august. any suggestions??

thanks!

No, thats not whats for dinner tonight...heh

I was admiring my 29 gallon, which now has crystal clear water after turning the output of my canister all the way open, *more gph i assume* when I saw my female honey gourami, and she had what looks like a bite mark near her fins *the primary moving ones* I netted her, and put her in my 10 gallon, which houses a male guppy, a platy, 2 neons *the other 4 died, and 2 albino corys. I added extra stress coat, and I was going to add some aquarium salt to prevent infection, but I wasnt sure if corys can handle aquarium salt. I was going to add a tonic solution of 1 tbs per ten gallons, so one tablespoon.....advice please!!!

Does anyone know what fish this is? I am thinking it is a dragon goby but the eyes are different although the rest of it looks similar. Really would like to know as I am suspecting it is eating up my neon tetras!

I've kept a Fish tank for awhile now and every once in awhile the outside of the tank(around the top edge where the hood meets the tank) residue builds up I have to try to scrub it off with a damp rag that I wet in the tank water. Is there a way to keep this stuff from coming back? or is there maybe something out tehre that helps prevent it? It doesn't look like Algae, it looks more like the residue that minerals in water leaves behind but it's a pain to get off and it looks gross.

I just asked a question a few minutes ago and got the answers I needed. I went and watched my corydoras a few minutes ago and she was frantically going up and down the glass, swimming over all the plants, and digging what seems to be holes. Is she trying to find a place for eggs or just looking for food?
(I have a male in the tank)

I have my Betta in a 10 Gallon now, and I would like to know what I can keep in his old 1.5 Gallon, just to have something on my desk.

Please also tell me how often I will need to do water changes and of how much.

Shrimp, what kind should I get? Benefits of them? I'd like some for my 10 gallon, how many? I'll have around 4 fish in the 10 gallon....Corys, Mollies, Platys, or tetras.
