I'm about to make some sushi!!!
Ok, so I have a psycho fish! it's an albino something .. and it's taken out 5 puffers, 1 shark, and 1 angel fish ..
he's got anger issues and he's nipping at our other fish's fins!
I'm either going to figure out how to chop up some anti dipressants into his fish food .. or I'm putting him in a sushi roll!
any suggestions?

my bio wheel filter stopped woking, it doesnt suck the water up anymore. i need to replace it but the pet store is closed.

I know that you are never suppost to replace the bio wheel part, but the petstore is closed and i need to let is sit about 24 hours until i get a new one.

should i leave it soaking in water ? should i not leave it in water ? should i just use the new wheel that is going to come with the new filter ?

i bought a betta and the only time ive seen him flare is at my gourami. i ve read that you should exercise your betta a couple of times a week for 20 to 30 minutes by placing a mirror or another betta by your tank. so far my betta shows little intrest in the mirror. could he be a chicken or something? he at least follows the reflection but thats about it.

I stupidly put some minnows from the pet store in my fishtank for my little catfish knowing that I've got ick from that before. within 24 hours I noticed my 5 clown loaches are infested, I have had ick 3 times before and I have always used this stuff called clout it is little blue pills you dissolve in a cup of water then put in tank, 24 hours later it's gone. Yesterday I put one pill per 10 gallons as it calls for. which is only 2 pills, today they have not gotten any better or worse, the directions say to do a second dose as needed, so today I put 3 pills in, and so far nothing. It looks as if everything in the tank has ick, rocks, piece of wood, ornaments, everything has white spots. Anyone got some advice

We would like to know how long it will be before we can put our betta into tap water (we did put a little conditioner in there but it was the last bit).

I started a cultivation of mosquito larvae in a bucket, but I don't know how much to feed them. They are full grown so i was thinking maybe 5 or 6 every other day, but I'm not sure. I don't want to accidentally over feed them and kill them. Does anybody feed mosquito larvae to their fish?

Every time I go in to a pet store the poor Betta fish are crammed into these tiny cups with an inch of nasty water in them. Anyone have any good ideas on how to get them to stop mistreating the poor things?

I've just noticed a few white spots on my orange dwarf platy's tail that were not there before. Does that mean she is sick or is that normal? She is pregnant...would that have anything to do with the spots?

I had a lilly in my aquerium but my goldfish compleatly striped it and it died.. any way I want a new plant so I can complete the nitrogen cycle but I want a palnt that is tough to withstand my fish or at least leaves to block them from gnawing on the stem I also want it to be 3-7 in fully grown, ph 6-8, and able to live in 70-80 degree temps. What is the best plant for me??? also I have limited space to work with I only have a ten gal currently.

I plan on purchasing one for my aquarium I'm cycling. Well I saw them and they are quite expensive. What are the most important test kits that I really need? so I don't have to buy all these test kits that I don't really need.

It looks almost like an egg sac. I really don't know much about the breeding of these fish, but I know they are mouth breeders, so don't quite know what is going on. It started with what almost looked like a prolapse coming out, now is white and dark and looks like little tiny marbles. Is that what it is?

Ok so i have 8 female guppies and 1 male in a 3ft tank, But one of them is skinny, And never gets pregnant, She has a grvaid spot, she HAS been pregnant before, But its like she cant get pregnant now, I dont think she is old, and she should be fat by now because the rest of them are, Its been about a month since she last had her fry

I had a platy give birth to a fry about 2 weeks ago. In less than 48 hours after having the fry she seemed to just wither down to nothing (her sides were sunk in) and she died. Is that normal for fish to do that? I have another pregnant platy and was wondering if it was going to happen to her too.

I noticed yesterday that my 2.5 year old betta fish had a swollen spot on the left side of his face. It is close to his eye so at first glance I thought it was popeye. However now that I have been able to get a better look it appears that he maybe had a cut which got infected. The sore itself is white and swollen. I purchased Hikari Betta Revive from a pet store which the lady there highly recommended. I have since placed him in a smaller container in order to keep the water as clean as possible. Any ideas on what else I can do or what this is that he has so I can prevent it next time? Here are some pictures of him : http://picasaweb.google.com/moikeyp626/Stu

Thanks!

Hi all, I just started a new fish tank with an undegravel filter. I have 2 guppies, one male and one female and 2 apple snails. The tank is just cycling and I noticed a few days ago that the ammonia levels were spiking so I added a ammonia reducer (natural bacteria - ammo down). The female guppy had given birth to some frys a week ago and they are doing fine.

The ph levels, salinity, and water hardness are all ok. The apple snails are active and show signs of good health.

My concern and question is regarding my guppies. In the past 2 days, their gills are getting really red. Also, the gravid spot on the female has also signs of redness. I noticed that the male and female guppies dont stop swimming and that the male guppy is always chasing the female guppy. Does anyone know whats going on with the guppies? Are they going to die? Please help. Thank you.

I am taking care of my friend's fishes, until the time she gets back from NC, and she told me that they need to be fed 3x a day. However, the food flakes just lay on the bottom of the tank, and it results in filth. Do you think, i should just feed them 1x a day instead?? Do you think they would die?? Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just started a 20 gallon aquarium. I really like clown loaches, but was told they should be in groups of 5 or more, same with corey's need at least two as they are playfull with each other.
If I were to start a second tank, to sustain 5 clowns and 3 coreys, knowing that they can grow to 3 inches, what size tank should I get?

I just started with a 20 gallon aquarium. Having wonderfull luck with 15 fish ( all spicies of tetras) The people at the pet store said not to get a catfish until about 6-8 weeks . I was reading about albino coreys, they seem to be social and playfull so would 2 be the best bet for the personality of the fish or would it be too many?
