I went to the pet store where i got my other fish from and i saw a puffe fish there and i really wanted him....so i baught him lol!!
i asked the guy at the pet store if the puffer would be ok with my tetras {i think that's their name(fresh water)} and he said yes, but i'm just double checking....
1} will the fish be ok tpgether?
2} do i need to get special food for the puffer or something?
3} what makes them puff and are they ok afterwords?
4} will the poison they have in them really kill my other fish?
5} does he release his poison when he puffs?
6} can you touch them?
7} any other general info you can give me about puffer care or info in general will be great, thanks!!! ♥katie!

I have2 moss balls, both are about the size of a tennis ball, if not,a bit larger.
I remember reading somewhere that in order to make more, you ripe them into pieces and place them back into the tank and each piece will grow?

If so, how long would it take for these lil moss balls to grow?

Any information would be splendid!

Thank you very much

I bought a red crowntail at the petstore today, but it's rather lethargic and not at all aggressive (as I had heard bettas were). It was living in a small plastic cup in the store, though. I've moved it into a good-sized tank, with some decorations. It has no filter. I have already conditioned the water, and fed him 6 small pellets, which he gobbled up readily. Still, he's not swimming around much, mostly moping at the bottom. Any tips on how to make him more happier, and livelier?

Your help is greatly apprecaited!!

My betta died this morning. He died at age 7 with 3 months. Does that mean I took good care of him or is that a normal bettas age? He was avery happy fish and I miss him already.

Right now I have a 10 gallon tank with the following:

Betta fish
3 Cory catfish
5 Neon Tetras
Heater
Thermometer
Air Stone
20 Gal Filter
3 fake plants
Fake Rock setup
Gravel

I would really like to house my fish and more fish into a 20 gallon tank. I have a tank in mind and its measurements are perfect for my room.

I plan on getting rid of the 3 fake plants and putting in real plants. I don't need to buy a new filter since my current one filters up to 20 gallons.

Here are some ideas on what I might want to get:
More Cory Cats
More Neon tetras
Loaches
Freshwater sharks
Ghost Shrimp
Apple Snails
Java fern
Java Moss
Anubias Nana
Anubias barteri

If you have any suggestions on what else I can add or anything on converting to the new tank would help. What would you do if you had these fish and supplies already and were upgrading to a new 20 gal tank? Thanks to all that answer!

I jsut got a few cichlids and they are extremely shy. They are Kribensis and Dwarf Jewel fish, both african cichlids. Thy seems to get along well. have lots of caves and hiding spots but they never come out.. Was it a bad thing to make so many caves? The water condition is perfect for them, I been checking and researching, the pH, temperature, hardness, etc.I turned my light off for yesterday so they won't be as startled. They seem conpletely terrified and will not eat. My dither fish, even though they are active, they only stay on top ad I don't even know if my new cichlids see them. My managed to feed my jewel by holding the fozen blok worm on the chopstick, but not any or my Kribs. They seemed pretty healthy when I got them, though..

Is there anything I can do to help them settle and get used to the environment? Can something be wrong with them or me? I did everything I can but nothing seem to help.. I feel bad.. It's a sad situation :[

Please HELP!!!
thanks very much!

I have 2 10inc ID sharks and when they were in my 54 gal tank they were doing good swimming and eating and all. I have now moved them to my new 110gal tank and they are both sitting on the bottom of the tank not moving much but still eating and looks like they are breathing heavy! I thought that the bigger the tank the better it was for the sharks? There is nothing new in the tank other then the plastic plants. same fish with them and everything else!! HELP ME I DON'T WANT THEM TO DIE!!!!!!!! What is the right temp for them? 72 to 80?

This is algae right? It is on the inside of the glass. My tank is 2.5gallons, contains a single fish, some snails and moss which has turned brown..

This is natural right? isn't this supposed to be good for the tank?

Do i clean it or just leave it alone?

I just noticed that algae is growing in the filter for the fish tank. I have 2 algae eaters that cant get in there. Its not on the filter parts that I can change, but on the spout where the water comes out. Should I just leave it? Is some algae healthy for tanks? I picked at it tonight and it came off in chunks... really gross... what should I do?

Yes i have a female. I have put them in a tank together and i think those are eggs. He becomes very protective of it and trys to hurt the female badly when she gets near his bubble nest. Maybe it is the lighting that makes them look orange. i checked to see if it was food but its not. I feed them in a different tank anyway. It's not snail eggs because they are really small and scattered about in different directions (unlike snail's eggs) and i'm pretty sure it is not mosquito larva (sp?). Please help me.

I'm babysitting my friend's betta fish while she's on vacation. And she gave me a bag of those "betta bites" they're REALLY tiny. she said to feed him one in the morning and one at night, but I put one in a few hours ago and he's still not eating it. What's wrong with him? I will keep updating this question throughout the night, but if you have any info, please let me know. I don't want to be held responsible if he dies! I have absolutely no experience in the betta department. He's living in a small bowl next to out television, the bowl has a light, should I put it on or off? Also, he always sits on the bottom of the bowl and barely moves. Please help!
