we just bought a red coris wrasse and it spends its days hidden in the sand..

It's probably because he's still relatively new. All wrasses burrow to avoid threats, especially at night. As long as you have adequate hiding places and he's not being bullied by someone else in the tank, he'll come out when he's ready.

they are a burrowing fish if im not mistaken, they will sya a few days in the sand, and sleep in it as well. a sandy bottm and feeding often, three times daily and non-aggressive fish. look into wetwebmedia.com
