they sleep with their eyes open since they dont have eyelids. they will jus stay motionless in a place when they are sleeping. but then they are light sleepers so they can be awaken by movements or light. their colour will also turn pale when they are sleeping.. some fishes are so lazy they can even lie on the gavel to sleep =)

They don't sleep like we sleep. They are not sent to a subconcious state, they still swim while they are "sleeping" because they have to keep water flowing over their gills. It is more like they are just resting. And by the way, some fish do have eyelids.

Yes they do sleep with eyes open(no eye lids) but some dont.
They aren't deep sleepers so whe you tap the tank or go close by it they should wake up.
