My betta died this morning. He died at age 7 with 3 months. Does that mean I took good care of him or is that a normal bettas age? He was avery happy fish and I miss him already.

I'm sorry for your loss. But you had to do a excellent job if he lived over 7 years! Most Betta's live between 1-3 years but can live 4-7+ if taken care of correctly.

7 years is a good long life for bettas. The life expectancy of a betta is usually 2 years in a household tank and up to 8 years under laboratory conditions, so you did well. Sorry for your loss, but he had a great life.

Thats a good age. Bettas are the easiest fish to take care of. Easier than goldfish. Get another one. Just make sure Bettas dont share a tank.

With good care a male Betta should last about 4 years,so kudos to you. I understand about missing a older fish, I lost an Oscar this Spring that was my pal for over 20 years.

Wow - I think you took good care of him. My daughter is on her 2nd and I take care of it and I'm pretty careful. Her first barely made it past the second year.
