This is algae right? It is on the inside of the glass. My tank is 2.5gallons, contains a single fish, some snails and moss which has turned brown..

This is natural right? isn't this supposed to be good for the tank?

Do i clean it or just leave it alone?

No algae is not good for your tank. This occurs when you leave the light on too much and/or the tank is located near where it can get natural sunlight. Empty about 50% of the water into a bowl and place the fish in it. Then empty the tank and clean it out with never used sponge or scrubber. Don't use soap or other chemicals. Once clean add new water with the old water. Be careful the water temperature is the same as what is in the bowl. You can even add in about 25% of the old water and let it sit for an hour or two to level out.

Algae is bound to grow sometimes but to help control this don't leave your lights on for more than a few hours a day. Moss is not typically intended to be in tanks and it turning brown may simply be that it's dying off. Remove it. You can also use the sponge to clean off the snails shell but be careful not to put your hands on the actual snail.

Go to the pet store and get an algae scraper and/ or a bottle of algae destroyer. You can control algae by keeping the water clean and not putting the tank in direct sunlight or keeping the lights on too long. I would reccomend a pleco if you had a larger tank, but a 2.5 gallon is way too small for one. Hope this helps.

Buy an algae eater fish. They feed on the algae instead of the fish food and do a pretty good job at keeping things clean. They also aren't too expensive.

Yes, it's green algae. If you find it unsightly, pet stores sell algae killers(not good if your tank is planted), and there are fish who eat algae, such as the plecostomus.

Most likely algae yes. Please, please whatever you do DO NOT use algae killing chemicals in your tank. That is a major no no for a healthy tank. Just scrape it off and siphon it out if it bothers you. A little algae growth won;t hurt the tank at all though.
