feed them only as much as they can eat in 5 minutes. remove any excess food that they didn't eat so it makes your job easier. they can get pretty big depending on their surroundings. you should probably change your tank now. a 1 gallon tank is no life for a goldfish. if you choose to move them to a five gallon they'll probably get about 3-4 inches. i have a water garden and since the tank is REALLY big they got about nine inches. you'd think they'd be bigger but since there is so many of them it takes up their growing space. well, good luck!

p.s. changing 75% of the water every day isn't nessecary. put the goldfish in a separate container when cleaning their bowl so you can scrub it (not with soap or some sort of glass cleaner as it might harm the fish) with a washcloth and regular tap water. do this once a week.

p.p.s after cleaning their tank let is sit full of water over night so it can become room temperature. this is so it doesn't shock the fish.

You will have to play around with the amount, there should be no food left in the water after about 2 minutes. If they don't eat everything after that amount of time, you're giving them too much.
Get them into a tank soon. The most expensive part of owning a fish is setting up the tank, but after that it's pretty easy. Goldfish generally don't do very well in bowls because they produce so much waste, and they use up a great deal of oxygen in the water. You will need a good filter on your tank, that will help keep the water circulating. As long as they are in the bowl, I would change about 25% a day, 75% is too much. That can stress your fish, which can kill them.
Once they are in a tank, you can do about a 10-15% water change once or twice a week, just to get the waste and any excess food out of there.

two 2 inches long goldfish in a 1 gallon bowl is too small. you should switch tank to a minimum of 10 gallon ASAP. set up a filter and airstone. you should perform a 30-40% water change per week.

i don't know what type of goldfish do you have, but goldfish does grow very big. you should feed them once per day, the quantity does not have to be much. it's hard to tell how much by wording, but if you are feeding flakes, maybe 1-2 slice per fish is fine. if you feed them a lot then they poop a lot and will make the water dirty.

good luck!

Get a good book and study the care of these fish. In such a small container the 75% water changes are needed. Do consider a larger container,20 gallons would not be too large. As far as feeding size goes less is best until you get a larger tank.

You need to change that water at least 3 times a day, all of it. Goldfish cannot live in bowls go get them a 20 gallon tank before you kill them in that bowl. Don't feed them but maybe 2 times a week until you get a decent home for them. No I'm not kidding, if you love them and want them alive you have to do what you need to do. Get a goldfish guide when you get the tank, filter, airator, airstones and heater.

well fist try to get a tank asap
they tend to grow 6 in. each but sometimes bigger
if theres space im not sure about the 75% change a day cuz it might put them into shock
but then a gain i neverd owned a bowl just tanks try to make i a 15 to 25% a day when you are going tank shoping two things to take into mind dont over stock your fish when you get a new tank and base the getting the right size tank on one inch of fish per gallon since theyll be 12 inches together later on try to get a 15 - 2o gall tank
and about the feedin no more then two decent size pinches of food a day

You must get those fish into a bigger tank as soon as possible. Goldfish grow larger than you think and they poop a LOT, possibly more than any other pet fish. They need a large volume of water to deal with this amount of waste. Being in confined spaces also results in the stunting of their internal organs. I think a ten or twenty gallon tank is in order, along with a good filter.

If you can't manage this - and please think carefully about this, as such large tanks do require quite a bit of maintenance - please try giving away the fish to another friend or a local pet store. Your friend must not have known how much care goldfish really need when he gave them to you.

not a big tank please don't change the water everyday. and when you do change the water please leave the goldfish in the same water pure into a bowl.. leave overnight so the clean water can settle down. than the next day add the old water which the fish are in . to the clean water......i believe you should clean tank when it looks dirty. you can also but vitamin's in the water.
