I really don't recommend using a bowl for quaranteen, especially for a goldfish. I commend you on wanting to do so though :)
Goldfish are very dirty and have high o2 requirements. Changing the water on him so often can really stress him out. So while you obviously understand that the water needs to stay clean, it may do more harm than good.
Plus, a quaranteen tank implies that you may need to use medication and many meds need a filter to work.
In my opinion a larger tank with a good filter is your best option. Larger tanks offer more surface area for good bacterial growth and will have less dramatic water temp changes. Larger tanks, especially with goldfish, will give your fish the room they need to thrive.
I've had the bio wheel filters and I'm not all that impressed with them. I recently switched to an Aquaclear 70 for my 55 and I'm amazed at how much of a difference it has made in the water clarity and the overall activity of my fish.

Bigger tank with the good filter is better. You need to give the Goldfish a filter because it creates so much waste. Even daily water changes might not do it. If you are willing to risk losing the fish, it will be okay, but don't do it for more than 4 days.

simple cleaning of the water and the tank/bowl often will cleanse your goldfish's environment. Plus if you have to quarantine your fish just do it for like a day. If you are asking which one is better a big tank or a small tank? If you want to use the big tank be sure that there are other goldfishes with your single goldfish. This may help your fish survive a bigger abode. If you want to use a small fish bowl, then you could have one or even better two fishes.

Im not sure but yes you can by cleaning the tank at least every day but you need some type circulation i would suggest a airpump with clear hose and air stone would do.

A bigger tank with really good filter and bio wheel will always keep a fish happy.

It is totally fine to keep them in an unfiltered tank. Even though they are fancy goldfish they are still goldfish. And remember all goldfish can handle high ammounts of ammonia and other things. They are the most hardy fish out of all the fish in the world. I keep my fancy goldfish in an unfiltered tank and they have been there for two years. I only clean it once every 2 weeks also.

you might want to at least aerate the tank while he is in there.. they put out so much ammonia in there waste that if there is not some kind of circulation it can kill them... try using one of those cheapo filters that hook up to a bubbler... i think they sell them at wallmart

its best to have him in there with a filter because it could stress him out and kill him in there and you wont even have a chance to add him to the other tank

and for the second part get a big tank with a good filter... goldfish need more room than other fish because of the amount of waste and ammonia they produce.. they should get 2 gallons per inch of full grown fish they get about 7-10 inches full grown

hope this helps

i wouldn't but if you want to take that risk then take it but all im saying is that its your choice on that one. if you change the water that way then i believe it should be just fine. depending on the fish i would go with a big tank but not to big but not to small. if that makes sense. let me know on that one.
