I have just introduced my first 4 guppy fish. They seem to have problems with the air bubble curtain that i have going across the middle, i also have a bubble circle at the front corner, have i got too many bubbles in my tank? Should i stop one of them, or move them. My tank hold 60 litres. Or is it because they only went in there yesterday! Thanks for your time.

i have 3 ,3stripe damsels in a 20 gallon tank with crust coral,A FISH ONLY TANK!! the tank has 2 weeks cycling, and sick damsel is 1 week sick,my reading are ammonie 1.0ppm,nitrite,3.5ppm,nitrate 0,ph 7.8, 1.023.

The first day of sick fish ,2#reading were ammonie,2.0ppm,nitrite,2.5ppm, nitrate 0, ph 7.8.
it look breathing pretty fast so i though because it WAS THE SMALLEST IN THE TANK dat maybe cuz water change, but then near his lip had a white ball, then started growing so, I DIP INTO FRESHWATER for a few secs,n then i put in a diff tank with the 2# reading of water,
but i had NO FILTER ,2 to 3 days his lip thingy went away, put kept breathing fast, n ammonie rise high of course! so today i bough a filter n small air pump, and i had to take his water off his lil tank cuz of the high ammonie,so i put the same water from the main tank. but he still breaths really fast!!maybe faster the last time. im going to dip into freshwater again, also some of my crust coral turn really green?

What else shoud I add? The tank will be barebottom, no substrate, no decor. The background will be painted blue.

I have Mojo in a one gallon bowl - or rather I have two bowls, and he is put in a clean one every week. I have thought about putting gravel in it - so i could put a plant in it - but how would you keep it clean enough to have a healthy enviorment for him?

I dont have the capacity to have a tank now - its just not possible - but is it possible to give my buddy a plant for his enjoyment?

I am beginner fish caretaker (and lazy and busy and stupid). Thusly, I have not cleaned the tank in a while and two of my fish died (I think due to the uncleanliness). As I proceeded to scoop the dead fish from the tank, I realized that one of the dead fish was only HALF A DEAD FISH.

I know that fishfood is fish, but seeing this half of a dead fish grossed me out! So I was wondering, is there such a thing as vegeterian fish food, and if so where can I buy it? Or can I feed my fish lettuce or carrots or something?

Also, the two dead fish were stuck to this tube thing that goes down into the aquarium. What does this mean? Perhaps, as my mom said, they died and floated to the top, but the tube part suctioned them back down, where they stuck (and the other fish proceeded to make a meal out of the dead fish! *shudder*). The grossness of the fish carnivorism has almost turned me off of fish as pets altogether; I myself am a vegetarian, so I cannot relate to eating animals.

I want to get a bottom feeder, but I want one that will look good! (i.e. no plecos....) It would need to be something that will eat leftoever food. I don't have any algae growth in my tank and I don't have live plants. And it's only a 10 gallon tank, so nothing too big.

My Silver Dollar (tropical fish) developed a small swelling on its belly, which has expanded slowly over 2 wks. The fish is eating and seems to be doing well. However, the lump is growing and I cannot diagnose the problem. Any thoughts?

I have a 46 gallon tank with an external filter, heater set at 80 to 81 degrees, and the proper chemicals added to make the water conditions good. Right now I have a couple bala sharks, and a couple sivler dollars. I was thinking about adding a Discus to my tank. I had a few questions about this before I do so. How many discus should I get? Wil they go good with the bala sharks and silver dollars? Will the water conditions be okay for all of the fish? Right now the ammonia is at 0, hardiness is soft, pH leve is about 6.2, and the nirites and nitrates are all good at . Is this good for the discus? What should I do, Please help?!?

About a year ago we bought a 10 gallon tank, and it seemed it would be fun if we got some Platies and Mollys, in total we had:

2 Orange Mollies
3 White Platies
3 Orange Platies
4 Neon Tetras
1 Algae Eater
(and some lefter over feeder guppies from a science fair project.)

The problem is, the mollies and the platies have cross bred to creat one REALLY hardy fish. Or should i say "some" really hardy fish. A bit of a short estimate would be around 60-70 fish, and we have given away 56 of them to friends, but the more we give away, the more that keep coming. They are all about 1-3 inches. And we just don't know what to do with them, we have asked pet stores and relatives a like, but none will take our fish. The pet store has told us to bag them and throw them in the garbage, but we just can't bring ourselves to it. I want to get rid of them "naturally", and i need your help. Please help our overpopulated civilization that is our tank. Any ideas would be apreciated.

Ok, so recently today, my female fiddler crab has been acting weird. Her eyes are sunken in, her front legs are locked, she's been on her back quite a bit, and doesn't seem to like the water too much anymore. So, is she about ready to die? Or what?

i just started to do a water change, and i was vacuuming the gravel and i noticed like 20 worm like things about 1/2 an inch long and the thickness of hair swimming around in the aquarium. i freaked out and stopped cleaning the aquarium. what could they be? they were wiggling around and swimming. could they be parasites? i havent added any fish or plants or anything in a few months. the only thing ive added is food flakes. i have a few different kinds of tetras in there, and a two inch long orange fish (not a gold fish) that i cant remember the name of. please help!

also what could i do to get rid of them?

My beta fish's bowl gets disgusting very quickly. The water evaporates very rapidly as well because New Mexico is so dry. Is it safe to cover the bowl with something to prevent these things? Will my fish get enough oxygen?

I am planning on getting two java ferns and one Anubias, plus a weird red aquatic plant that comes in a seed and the only thing I have to do is throw it on the fish tank and it does everything by itself. I am planning to do all this in a 10 gallon tank. Plus I will be mating bettas in this fish tank. Do you think it would all fit? And in order to multiply my fern and my Anubias what do I need to do?
