I got a betta fish a few days ago, first he lived in a regular bowl for maybe 2 days and then today i got him a mini bow 2.5
it came with a filter and light. I decorated it and did everything i needed to do but he still acts weird. He just kind stays in one spot of the aquarium and just looks at the wall. He doesn't swim and doesn't really eat. He just stays on at the corner and on top. Tell me if hes just getting used to his new living situation or theres something wrong

How does one know if a rasbora is preggers? One of mine has suddenly gotten fat after I have seen it swimming around rather oddly with another one. I am curious to know if its going to have babies.

I need help from someone who knows alot about fish and aquariums. How does my tank sound? Its a 10 gallon tank with a filter and a heater. the temperature is at about 76 degrees. I have 4 cardinal tetras, 1 dwarf gourami, 1 leopard angel fish, 2 guppie (male and female), and 1 silver hatchet. It sounds like alot but there all very small. How long will my fish live for? What should be the conditons of my tank? are all the fish going to get along? thanks!!

I want my fish to have a good solid diet and they already eat bloodworms, tubifex worms, and normal fish food, what can they eat other than those!?!?! They won't eat lettuce, or pees.

I am at a university in NS right next to a salt water bay. Our water that comes from the bay is treated, but the problem is that it is sooo loaded with chlorine, its pretty nasty to even drink.

The university recommends Breta Water Filters to attach to the faucets or a pitcher with a Breta Filter installed in the pitcher.

Lately, i have been taking the water straight from the tap, and using Aqua Plus Tap Water Conditioner to lower the chlorine level. But lately, a day after cleaning the tank and using the conditioner, the tank gets scummy right away and hazy, and the fish is not too active.

Now today i used bottled water on the tank, and he likes it. it's a quick fix for now. But i do not want to have to go out buying bottled water every week for his tank.

What i want to know is this: What water would be better? Water from the tap with the conditioner, or make a supply of fresh water using my pitcher with the Breta Water Filter?

I have a under gravel filter as well as the one that hangs on the tank. I have tried several different air pumps to power the under gravel filter. However none of them seem to be powerful enough to get the job done. Of course there are a few bubbles the go through but no wheres near enough to do any filtering. What do you guys use? Please recommend a pump that will be powerful enough to get the job done.

I was planning on keeping it in a little breeder because my tank is quiet big and I'm just worried about it not being able to get to the surface good and the other fish bothering it. But I'm wondering if the aquarium salt in the tank might hurt it. The reason I want to do this is because my other ACF is full grown and I don't want this new one to get eaten, so I'll add it to my oyher tank when its big enough.

how do you know when the female guppy is pregnant

2007-09-23 01:18:01 · 6 answers · asked by Anonymous

I just bought 3 female bettas from walmart. They were labeled female and look like female vieltaies anyway. I put them in a tank together and two are really aggressive. All 3 flare at each other but it is the 2 I am worried about. Besides flaring they are attacking each other and they almost look like they are cuping each other at times. I read that when introducing them they would establish a pecking order but I also heard if they were attacking each other that's cause for concern. The have plenty of places to hide. but the 2 just keep going at it. So my question is should I wait it out, separate them, or be concerned that they are not female at all? Any help would be great!
p.s. at one time they locked "lips" and would not go, what is that all about? please help!

hi basically ive done a ammonia test today and the results are off the chart... the nitrite and nitrate levels are both zero.. could there be a problem with the breakdown of the ammonia... i had to do a full water change nearlly 2 weeks ago because my 2 year old found the fish food and fed all of it in one go... it was so bad i couldnt see the fish.. anyway since then its been hard to keep the levels of ammonia down ive done partial water changes and the last one was 2 nights ago... is there anything else i can do (other than adding amnolock which doesnt seem to do anything) i would be grateful for some serious replies... im no expert but have some experience... thankyou
