I got a betta fish a few days ago, first he lived in a regular bowl for maybe 2 days and then today i got him a mini bow 2.5
it came with a filter and light. I decorated it and did everything i needed to do but he still acts weird. He just kind stays in one spot of the aquarium and just looks at the wall. He doesn't swim and doesn't really eat. He just stays on at the corner and on top. Tell me if hes just getting used to his new living situation or theres something wrong

This behaviour is very normal, especially if you just got your betta
It takes up to 10 days for a new fish to get used to his new environment

Also get a small heater for your tank, which should be kept around 76-82 degrees, your betta will thrive in these temperatures

Hope that helps
Good luck

the difficulty is you're slowly killing your fish! Yours is the weaker one, so this is showing indications quicker, yet they are going to the two die upfront, and exceptionally quickly. i does no longer shop a snail in a a million/2 gallon tank, no longer to show 2 Bettas! in case you choose to maintain them in a divided tank, get a 10 gallon, or on the least a 5 gallon, and in good shape it with a divider. Bettas do ultimate in 5 gallon tanks, yet can take care of in 2.5 gallon tanks. Which ever you %, it may well be heated and have a tender filter out. If the water would not freely circulate throughout the time of the divider, placed a heater and filter out on the two aspects. If the divider is obvious, placed some tall (genuine or silk) plant life alongside it so they do no longer could stare at one yet another each and all the time. do no longer use plastic plant life in Betta tanks! be sure the water point is low adequate that they might't leap from one area to the different. Bettas are marvelous jumpers! in case you are trying this and carry out weekly water variations of 20-25%, your Bettas will stay long, healthful lives. A Betta can stay 5 years or greater if stored in sturdy situations. do no longer try this and Blondie probable won't stay to work out Christmas, and the different one would be long previous until eventually now spring! i will almost assure it! Get some books and/or circulate to a pair on line boards approximately Bettas. and aquarium keeping. You curiously have lots to benefit approximately those impressive fish.

He's probably getting over the stress of having his environment switched around so many times in a few days. This is normal. Give him time and he will be fine. Bettas are also very active fish as long as their water is not cold. Get him a heater and he will be swimming around, spreading out his fins and exploring the whole tank.

he's fine they are not active fish at all , mine is in a 1 gallon tank ,you do not need to use a filter in there bettas do not like a current in their water, the are found in rice patties where no currents are. the fish will do fine just make sure you have a lid on the tank as they will jump out. just keep in mind that the stores only keep them in a small cup for you to carry them home in that size is not good , if the tank/bowl is too small they can hit the sides and damage thir fins, you also want to put live plants or a soft texture fake plant in with him so he doesn't damage his fins.

It sounds fine, but if you're worried, try buying a small heater and see if it makes a difference. Betta's really need a water temp of 76-82 degrees in order to be active.

Beta's need only a very small bowl. If the bowl is too big, they swim a lot and damage their fins. If he's eating, and isn't pale, he's fine.

If you want him to have "fun," buy a small mirror and tape it to the side of his bowl. Make sure the bowl is large enough that he can "get away" from the mirror if he wants to. That way when he floats by the mirror, he'll flare out his fins and be pretty for you, tough for himself.

Also, if you buy him live brine shrimp (available in fish and pet stores~~they're like $1 for <1 lb) that will stimulate your fish, give him some play time as well as exercise.

What ?? You are missing some things. How about a tv or some books?
Thats all beta's do - sit there quietly. Nothing is wrong :) Good luck with your fish!
