Right now I have a 10 gallon cycling for my betta. He's been living in a crappy 1-1.5 gallon tank for a couple of months now and I've decided to move him into a 10 gallon. I want to house him with other fish though. What do you think of this set-up?

1 Male Betta
Harlequin Rasboras (I know they like to school so how many?)
Hatchets (They school too, so how many?)
Mollies (how many?)
3-4 Cory cats
6 bleeding heart tetras or 6 royal black emperor tetras

Any suggestions would be appreciated or if you have a completely different setup that you think would work better, let me know. I'm just trying to get fish that are compatible with my betta and fish that I don't already have. I have another 10 gallon community that houses 3 cories, 4 neon tetras, 3 oto cats, and 1 dwarf gourami. So I tried to come up with a different setup.

Alright... i'm settin up a lake malawi cichlid tank. Its a 30 galon. (i know that all of you are thinkin: what? cichlids in a 30 gallon?) but im gettin dwarf cichlids and stuff liek that. they dont get to big.. 3-4 inches max(im gettin about 7 of them)

ok.. so what i was wondering was what type of filtration should i get for them? (cichlids love hard water) and are messy fish, thus require good filtration. I was going to get A 350 gal/ph Penguin-bio-wheel filter. I think it would work fine (it might even be to much b/c its meant for a 75 gallon tank)
my question is, should i also add an undergravel filter to the tank? alot of people have already told me that thos edo not work well at all.. but I'm thinking that any extra assistance would be good. Any ideas? please n thankyou! =]

I am being told to junk my 10 year old penquin Biowheel. I've heard of the tetra Whisper and Aqua Clear but wated to ask what is the best pwer filter for my 29 Gallon freshwater Tank. I don't want a loud one or one I will need to replace a few years down the road. Also, do I get one for that size (30) or go with a larger model (40, 50, ect). So far I have a variety of tiger and rosy barbs, a pleco and a kuhli loach that are all happy together. Thanks for your suggestions!

I'm pretty good with fish tanks and all that and recently I got a new 29 gallon tank, I filled it up and everything and then poured a little stress coat and stress zyme in but I noticed the tank was getting really cloudy, after doing some research I found out that the stress zyme contains a lot of live bacteria, could that be why it's cloudy? I poured too much of the zyme in so that might be why.. How should I go about fixing this? Refilling the tank with new water or what? help!

For a 2.5 gallon tank with an under gravel filter and air pump, what are my options for fish. I know that goldfish are out, and I can't have more than three small fish.

It came with a divider, would it be possible to keep two separated male bettas or is it too small?

What are my other options for combinations (number of fish ans species?) I'm very nervous! I don't want my fish to die!

I'm trying to get read of my snails they poop more than they clean and they lay too many eggs! I was wondering if pure alcohol (the kind that is used to clean cuts and stuff) would that kill it FAST and with out hurting it? Or is there a better way and quicker way I don’t want to hurt it even though it’s just a snail.

Is there anything that I most likely have at home that will attract the fish to the top of the water so I can get them

She is giving me them because she doesn't want to deal with keeping the pond clean

"I told you not to put that fish in the tank-he's sick!" Tank has 2 small oscars, five feeder fish, three mollies just a little too big to be eaten, a dragon fish, a gorami, and a danyo. The sickest fish was the smaller oscar, just laid on the bottom and gasped, now after 5 days of Rx is eating again but obviously still has ick. Oh, have been changing out roughly half the water every 3 days. Does that help or make it worse by making the medicine too dilute? Help- I've fallen in love with the oscars!
