we're just back from along weekend and found our bio orb water to be cloudy. we put a 4 day feeding block into the orb. could this be the cause? if not... what caused it? all the fish seem to be ok.

Never, never, never use feeding blocks, all they do is pollute your tank. They are the very worst fraud perpetrated on fish-keepers. Fish don't eat the crap in those things anyway. Begin doing daily 20% water changes until the ammonia numbers get to a safe level. This may or may not clear up the bacteria bloom that is clouding your water. Keep doing regular, frequent, small water changes unitl the water clears.
Also the best way to deal with a prolonged absense is to stop feeding about two or three days before you leave, then the day before departure give the tank a nice water change and gravel cleaning, but no food. This will leave your pets in a nice clean tank with no pollution, and nothing to nourish the water clouding bacteria that you are experiencing. The fish will be none the worse for their little fast and when you return, they will still be in nice clean water. I have left my fish unattended for as long as two weeks and they do just fine. One other thing, don't give them a huge feeding when you return, start with one small feeding, and let them gradually come back to the regular feeding schedule. The only experienced aquarist that will tell you to feed more than once or twice a day is one that has fish food for sale.
If you doubt my little rant, set up a nice well cycled tank and try to starve a fish to death. I promise it will take months, and it will be many weeks before any ill effects are observed.

how often do you change the water? with a biorb (those are the small ones right), you should do a complete water change every week. that means pour the fish with some of his water into a clean jar or other glass container. Then dump everything out into the sink, rinse all of the gravel off, and put new water into the bi orb and treat it. then you can put your fish back into the tank without the water. just net them and put them back in. How many fish do you have in there anyway? and what kinds? I didn't think a biorb would hold more than a betta, and that was pushing it...

The feeding block might have been to big for the volume of water you had in your orb ,
Don't feed them for a day and do a small water change
I have used these feeding blocks with no problems but my tanks are a lot bigger
