Obviously she will get very heavy and fat, but also the back part of her belly will get a squared off appearance. When you see this, expect babies in 2-3 days.

She'll spend a lot of time toward the surface or hiding. If you are wanting to hopefully keep some of the babies it's best to purchase a breeding box to put in the tank. It's a small plastic box that has 1-2 sections in it with holes in the divider. Once you notice she's given birth remove the mom and leave the babies in till they are older. Most won't survive or will be eaten by the other fish.

SHE WILL GET REALLY FAT REALLY FAST, WITHIN A FEW DAYS, AND THEN YOU WILL FIND HER NESTING AND BABIES ALL OVER THE PLACE. THEY DO IT FRQUENTLY TOO!
