The most I have ever paid for a single fish was $160 for a male betta. A few other fish came close, such as my stingrays, but the betta tops the list.

The most I have ever paid was $29 for a afromastacembelus elipsifer eel. I paid wholesale for it, they usually retail for $60-$80. I also paid $25 for an adult synspillum, which was also wholesale. I sold one of my adult flowerhorns for $100 to a pet store, so that was wholesale too.
