I have Four guppies in a 30 gallon tank, lots of fake plants and big hollow stumps for hiding places. Got a couple other fish in the tank as well.
Now three guppies are all picking on the biggest guppy in the tank. They dont seem to be biting it, But they either take turns or gang up on this one guppy, pushing on its side just infront of its tail fin. At first I thought they where playing but now Im not so sure, cause its only this one fish they are messing with.

Also - live plants - don't they need "soil"? But if you put soil in the fish tank, wouldn't the tank be brownish and dirty?

Ha got ya, who ever clicked on that question and wanted to answer yes, YOU ARE WRONG

Bettas are NOT happy and healthy in a bowl or in a 1 gallon tank

It's your responsibility to your fish to get at LEAST a 2.5 gallon tank with heater and filter for your betta

There is no truth behind that, that a betta is happy in little bowl?!?!?!

Would you like to be confined to a space of 2X2???
Don't think so

Remember one thing, you're going to cut down your betta's life to about 2 years if you're lucky

But if taken proper care it can live up to 7 years!!!!!

So what would you reather have, a happy and healthy betta or one that has a short expected life because of your iresponsibility?????

Ha got ya, this is suppose to be for people that still believe that myth about keeping goldfish in a bowl or a common pleco in a 10 gallon tank

The answer to that is simply NO, and here is why
http://www99.epinions.com/content_318561...

Here is also a site the provides info on proper care for goldfish
http://www.firsttankguide.net/goldfish.p...

Here is the correct info on a common pleco and his needs
http://members.tripod.com/~boeing_dude/i...
What does it say here, oh a minimum of 40 gallon, and you want to put him in a 10 gallon?

Wrong information everywhere, constantly I here from people that get advised from store employees that a pleco can go in a 10 gallon and a goldfish can live in a bowl?!?!

Come on people get real and do some research, before you buy ANY kind of fish

Okay, I have 3 Golden mystical snail's. 2 of the 3 are......well, let's just say there"slimey" body's are all over each other. the one snail has it's whole body stuck on the other snail's body, and "both" of there slime are touching and moving slowly in one position. So, does anyone one out there know anything about how those types of snail's would breed, of what it would look like? And if they are breeding, how long will it take for the female to lay egg's, and what will the egg's look like and where will she lay them? Thankyou to all that anwser this long question!.

As I moved my fish tank out of my office today, I noticed one of my dannios is pregnant. I have two Dannios, five male guppies, a marble molly and an algae eater in a 10 gallon tank.

Here's my two big concerns - should I put the dannios in another tank so they can lay their eggs and breed happy baby fishies in peace? Also, I am moving across country in 17 days - to a higher altitude. We are driving - a two day trip- in order to move. How might this affect the fish in general but specifically this one Dannio?

thanks in advance!

I have a 10 gallon aquarium with 2 dwarf cichlids in it. I have a filter that filters UP TO 150 gallons per hour and a 5-15 gallon air pump with a 6 inch air stone is this too much current? There are caves in which the cichlids will be able to escape the current. Im cycling my aquarium currently and will buy the dwarfs in a week. Thanks for answers!

Does anyone know the common or scientific name of this fish?

I read an article in a fish magazine several years ago about an
African Cichlid. It's about 2-3 inches long, and sort of a yellowish color. The article referred to them as sand dwellers, because they're constantly busy building mounds of sand. They situate a shell on top of it, and sleep and breed in it.

I hope someone can help me with this. Maybe some one knows where I can get some, too. They're probably hard to find.

I have a 10 gallon aquarium with 2 dwarf cichlids in it and no live plants. I want to know what is the optimum gallons per hour amount. I am leaning towards a filter that will filter up to 150 gallons per hour. Filter has adjustable flow if this is too much. Thanks for answers!

For about 3 weeks now my fish has been swimming on his side, looks like he has lost the use of some of his fin. At first I thought he was dying, however its been 3 weeks now and he has not died neither has his fin or whatever is wrong with has gotten better. Do you know what could be possibly wrong with my Betta fish? When I watch him swim I feel sorry for him.

I have a 250 gallon outdoor pond and i have about 15 comet goldfish in it. I recently drained the water and put new water in it and conditioned and everything and put the fish back in and they are dying off really fast. I tested the ph and its about 7.2- 7.4. The rest of the goldfish ( the older mature goldfish) aren't as lively as they were before the water change. they just kind stay still towards the bottom of the pond and don't move at all. They also won't eat either. im really annoyed because i can't figure out what's happening and im starting to lose some of my bigger fish that i've had for 2 and half years. please help.

I have a male Betta in a 10 gallon tank with 1 Bleeding Fin Tetra, 2 Neon Tetras, 2 Serpae Tetras. 1 Peppered Corydora Catfish, 1 Sunburst Molly, and 1 Red Molly.

I would like to know what to feed the other fish besides the Betta. I feed my Betta Hikari Betta-Gold. I don't know how to get food to the other fish, my Betta is very, very greedy.

Any strategies?
